Note: This article was updated on December 19, 2024, to include a clarified definition of "manufacturing cost."

We’re updating our Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) inventory reimbursement policy to help provide you greater transparency and more predictability in how reimbursements are calculated for items that are lost or damaged before a customer order. This will help drive a more consistent approach that works as we support sellers with supply chain services across their sales channels.

Effective March 10, 2025, we’ll reimburse you based on the product manufacturing cost of the affected inventory. "Manufacturing cost" means your cost to source a product from a manufacturer, wholesaler, reseller, or produce the item if you are the manufacturer. It excludes costs such as shipping, handling, customs duties, or other costs.

To help provide you greater control and accuracy, you can choose how we determine the manufacturing cost for your products:

  • We’ll provide a manufacturing cost estimate for you. This estimate is based on a comprehensive evaluation of comparable products sold by Amazon, by other sellers, and through wholesale channels.
  • You can provide your manufacturing costs directly. If you don’t provide your own costs, we’ll automatically apply our estimate which you can change when you’re ready.

To help you prepare, you can view and manage manufacturing costs in the Inventory Defect and Reimbursement portal starting in late January using a new Manage Your Manufacturing Cost page.

We’re constantly refining our operations and processes to prevent products from being lost or damaged and having to be reimbursed. For cases where reimbursement is necessary, we’re focused on ensuring timely compensation. We now offer automatic reimbursements for items lost in our fulfillment centers, saving you time, and eliminating the need for you to submit a claim to receive reimbursement.

For items that are lost or damaged after a customer order in Amazon’s store, we’ll continue to reimburse you for the sales price on the original order minus applicable fees.

I sent 15 units to FBA and they were received. My account showed all 15 units available for days. I made one sale. Now it shows 0 in stock. Each jar was individually labeled with a sku. Where are the 14 remaining jars and why does it say it’s not in stock?

Hello recently i want to open amazon UK account.But i donot know that i have to open amazon.co.uk.I go for amazon.com and submit my uk company document and other documents as well in amazon.com and video verification was through amazon united kingdom.but now my amazon.com account is opened wiht us mexico and canada option.when i try to open unitedkingdom it said "while we verifying your card you can go through north america account.Can i open amazon uk account again?

Why is this happening? The customer reported an issue with delivery. In this case, the tracking information indicates delivered, but the customer did not receive the package. Because you provided sufficient information that proves the order was actually received by the customer, we will not count the claim against your Order Defect Rate, but will debit your account for the amount of $32.07.

@Joey_Amazon, could you help me understand how I can provide proof of on-time delivery, tracking information, use a BUY SHIPPING label, and meet all of BUY SHIPPING criteria, yet I am not protected against claims that the BUY SHIPPING label offers?

Buyer doubling down fradulent A - Z claim

Buyer purchased a product from us (a car front seat cover pair), claimed non delivery (USPS confirmed delivery) then opened an A - Z claim which was granted with no option to appeal. Seller Support 'transferred' the case and it has predictably disappeared with no sign of response. The same buyer has now purchased another item (a rear seat cover) matching the first product which no doubt she will also claim non receipt of, so a free set of seat covers! If we do not make a refund when she claims non receipt of the second item, all she has to do is open an A - Z claim which will again be granted and could then lead to our account's de-activation!

I am reaching out regarding an issue with my account that I hope you can assist with or provide guidance on.

My account is currently inactive in four marketplaces—US, Canada, Mexico, and Australia—despite receiving confirmation from the Seller Identity Verification (SIV) team that my identity has been successfully verified. All my other marketplaces are active, but these four remain inactive.

I have turned off all vacation settings, yet the account status has not changed. This situation is causing significant disruption to my ability to manage my business, fulfill orders, and maintain customer satisfaction.

where to submit letter of authorization

Hello,

We received suspected IP violation from Amazon for our listing. Amazon wants us to submit letter of authorization from the rights owner/manufacturer. We have the authorization but we do not know where to submit it. Amazon told us to edit the listing or send them LOA to appeal.

Can anybody let us know where we can submit the LOA?

Hello, I have been selling FBA since July 2024 and have the Buy Box for DVD's. I actually started by sending in CD's and Books. I have been sending inventory to Amazon weekly. Each week I send a box with CD's DVD's and Books. I still do not have the Buy Box for used CD's or books. Is there any way that someone can do a manual review and let me know what may be holding me back? I appreciate any assistance and thank you for your time. With the crazy holiday schedule I have several FBA shipments that are in warehouses waiting, so it might look like I am not sending in orders every week, but I am.

I have been very active with DVD's and have a great record since I received the buy box in DVD's. I hope that bodes well in my efforts for CD's and Books.

I am tagging a few Mods that have helped me or have helped with similar posts. Thank you for any help.
