I recently got a message that two of my items are a good choice for providing case packs of 6 to 8 items in those packs. I had created a case pack before for one of those items, but no reference was made on the original product page that a case pack was also available, so there were no sales for the case packs. I eventually added a link in a bullet point, but it did very little to aid those sales. I ended up getting charged fees for aging inventory, and I eventually disposed of them. A total loss of time, effort, and inventory.
What am I misunderstanding about case packs? What is the point of creating a case pack if the popular page for that product never informs the customer of that option ... or has that changed in the past two years since I originally tried?
Alternatively, I could offer discounts for purchasing higher quantities, but this appears to be a loss for me and a boom for Amazon since I would receive a lower price per product if I provide a discount for purchasing six items as compared to one, but Amazon still charges the full FBA shipping fees for each item, makes one shipment and doubles or triples their profit. Normally, part of the motivation for providing a discount for purchasing in quantity is because of the savings on shipping, but I don't see those savings being passed to my end, just on Amazon's, so what am I misunderstanding about that as well?
Overall, I appreciate the volume of sales I can generate through Amazon as compared to other places where I sell my products, but it sometimes appears that Amazon's "Suggestions" to help me sell more, benefit them a lot more than me. I am open to seeing this differently if I am misunderstanding the process.
