Hello sellers!

As we approach the holiday season, it's time to prepare for two of the biggest shopping events of the year: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Let's walk through the process of submitting deals for these events, with some practical tips to boost your success.

Identifying Event Opportunities

  • Regularly check your Deals dashboard for "Upcoming Events."
  • Look specifically for Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the list of open events.

Ensuring ASIN Eligibility

To check if your ASIN is eligible for event consideration:

  • On the Deals dashboard, look for event options in the Date column dropdown.
  • When creating a new deal, check if your desired event appears in the Schedule options.
  • If you don't see the event available, your ASIN may not currently meet the criteria. Consider reviewing Amazon's eligibility requirements to make necessary adjustments.

Crafting Competitive Deals

While selection isn't guaranteed, you can improve your chances by:

  • Choosing products with high customer appeal.
  • Ensuring substantial inventory availability.
  • Offering a compelling discount that stands out in a crowded marketplace.

Deals with large quantities and inventories may also have an advantage in being selected!

Understanding Event Fees

  • Be aware that fees may be higher during high-traffic periods like Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
  • The specific fee will be displayed when you select the Schedule while creating your deal.
  • Factor these potential higher fees into your pricing strategy to maintain profitability.
  • Review our guidance on understanding deal fees.

Timing Your Deals

  • Deal dates and times are revealed in Seller Central at least one week before the scheduled run.
  • For event-specific deals, you'll see the event name (e.g., Black Friday, Cyber Monday) along with your time slot.
  • Mark your calendar with these dates to ensure you're prepared for an influx of orders.

Managing Your Deals Effectively

To keep your deals on track:

  • Regularly monitor and update your deals to maintain "Upcoming" status.
  • Review these recommendations for getting the most out of your Deals.
  • Consider complementary promotional tactics to maximize visibility.
  • Proactive management of your deals is crucial for success during these high-stakes events.

Remember, successful participation in Black Friday and Cyber Monday events requires thorough preparation, strategic pricing, and active management. Hopefully this post helps you be well-positioned to make the most of the holiday shopping season, but please let us know what questions you might have!

We wish you a successful and profitable holiday selling season!

-Danny

Brand Approval
by Seller_geFT646AA1XTU
Amazon replied

We received an authenticity complaint for a brand, which we immediately resolved. After that, Amazon, where we have sold over 10,000 units of this brand, asked us to apply for brand approval. However, the approval was declined by their automated system. We provided additional information, and Amazon mentioned they would get back to us by November 19.

I followed up with a call, and the agent advised me to reapply if a response had been received. Currently, we have over 15,000 units of this brand in stock and are still waiting for Amazon's approval. Does anyone have advice or suggestions on how to expedite this process?

We'll provide an update as soon as any additional information is available."

product fees over shipping costs
by Seller_9y0TWEptWDrXB

Why does Amazon charge product fees over shipping costs? I ship from Canada, and the shipping costs are high. These are expenses, not earnings

Enough. 12 years of this nonsense and i can't do it anymore. I have never posted on here. I am doing this to vent. The transparency label system is a joke and is clearly very easily manipulated by 'you know who'. No matter what the brand name is, they can take it over. They can claim anything. I dont own the brands or IP's so there is nothing i can do. I call seller support and they just read the same script telling me to contact to wholesaler/brand/blah and have them give me the codes. I call the wholesaler and guess what? THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM TALKNG ABOUT. So i go to list the item myself, CORRECTLY, and then i am hit with suspected IP infringement. So now I can not sell any movie posters that i have inventory from legit wholesalers, that i can not sell. But somehow, sellers from 'you know where' have taken over.

So we move along and stick to the toys we sell. No way there can be an issue here right? WRONG. Amazon sends us Suspected IP Infringements for items and listings that are clearly listed correctly. If the brand of the company is X-Toys and i am looking at my invoice from legit wholesaler that says BRAND: X Toys, you list it as X Toys right? WRONG. You list the brand as Godzilla. WHAT!? Ok i can fix this. I will provide and invoice. NOPE. I need a letter from Godzilla. WHAT!? But no no... i was wrong. I just need to get a letter of authorization from X-toys that includes me into their licensing agreement with the owners of the Godzilla IP. Just in case you didnt know yet, that is not how this works.

So now i have a suspected IP claim for an item i bought legitimately from the right sources etc because Amazon has deemed i am abusing a trademark. And a "Counterfeit without purchase" from a guy with a @123.com email address who messaged me ON AMAZON 3 times telling me exactly what he was going to do: "KILL YOU STORE WITH FAKE REVIEWS. WE KILL YOUR STORE. REMOVE ALL LISTING NOW". Well, since i know how this goes, i just delete the listings. Because NO WAY is Amazon going to get my back now. Not after 12 years of letting "you know how" destroy the platform.

Ok ok. I am done. I am certain i made mistakes here and i am not going back. this was stream of thought because that last phone call with Seller Central made my blood pressure rise so high i thought i was going to pass out.

everyone have a great and profitable holiday season. and i wish you all the best in your personal lives as well.

Unfair Vine Reviews
by Seller_qTBp0T0yf26ll
Amazon replied

Vine reviews that criticize pricing or reflect unfamiliarity with certain products should not be allowed. It's unfair that these reviews significantly lower the star rating for my product. For instance, a reviewer who received the product for free complained it was "too expensive." This violates Amazon Vine's terms of service, which explicitly prohibit discussing pricing—yet it still happens.

Additionally, my product, a soap made from beef fat, received a 3-star rating from a Vine reviewer unfamiliar with it, solely because they thought it "smelled like fat" and was "expensive." This undermines fair product evaluation.

FBM ORDER - Send 2 different boxes for 1 order.
by Seller_h7MzIMZcI6Kks
Amazon replied

Hello, good morning,

I am working with FBM and have 1 order to ship of a pair of products that are very big and heavy, more than 25 pounds each. I need to send them in two separate boxes.

How can I ship them separately while ensuring they arrive correctly to the customer and that I have proper tracking for the shipment?

Is it possible to receive two shipping labels for the same order, or what is the best alternative in this situation?

Thank you very much!

Brand Aprroved still cant edit listings
by Seller_fxSlAS1yOhYg7

HI,

Have my brand registry approved.. I now I have to fix all the hijacked and stolen listings that were edited by random brands. The listing do not update when edited over 24hours. It says I am the brand owner under edit. but on the live listing there is a random brand. Cannot report it on brand registry because they says you cannot report your own product. filing a help case is about it is a 25% success rate. have 100s off errors to fix and filing a case for every change that may or maynot be approved is absurd because it is such a simple thing. amazons seller platform has become a night mare. and my product descriptions are simply gone.

Thanksgiving is the time of year to reflect on what we are thankful for and we were wondering...

What product have you purchased on Amazon that you are thankful for?

  • It could be something useful that you use everyday.
  • Could be something sentimental (the Handmade Sellers are very talented)
  • Maybe your favorite book (kindle) or movie (on Prime Video) purchased from the store?

Looking forward to seeing your replies in the comments below!

Hello Moderators,

Our listings have been incorrectly marked as pesticides by Amazon for over a month. We sell a cleaning device (made of sewn textiles) for the sport of disc golf.

We’ve opened ten cases with Seller Support, and despite escalating to the Captive and Restricted Products Teams, each time Amazon’s response has been, “We received your submission for the following ASINs and we have determined that there are currently no restrictions on the listings.” This has happened ten out of ten times. A simple visit to the Manage Inventory page shows that all of the ASINs listed in the cases have inactive offers, whether FBA, FBM, or both.

Of the ten cases, one of Seller Support's responses asked us to remove "repellent" from the descriptions. We explained "repellent" is part of the fabric description phrase "water repellent 1050D nylon exterior" and updated the phrase to "water-repellent."

"Fix listings" -> "Request approval" brings us to the pesticide training page. From there, there's is no way to access a selling application without falsely conceding these products are pesticides by going through the training. Even then, we are unsure if a selling application lies on the other side of it that indefinitely categorizes them as containing or potentially contaminated with pesticides. We're not thrilled with the potential for liability associated with conceding to something that isn't remotely true.

I provided screenshots and a PDF document of screenshots and explanations detailing the issue.

The case numbers are 16568170821, 16568997181, 16610138041, 16610227431, 16610130131, 16616812251, 16682510031, 16683940571, 16723240031
