Great. It is almost like no one at Amazon knows anything about forums and why certain data is not offered on every forum that I have ever been on.
It’s almost like they have no knowledge of how people on the internet work and how easy it is to target sellers when you are a seller. I have read eight years of the damage sellers can do to other sellers and exposing our account to that is simple unacceptable.
And the Mods and those that they report to have chosen to listen to the forums… Wait, what forums? It certainly was not this one. Nowhere have I seen a thread where a majority of sellers supported exposing their accounts to malicious attacks.
@Oneida, thank you for all the posts you’ve made warning the rest of this about this egregious NSFE.
Is it your understanding that those of us not yet on the NSFE will be notified when this happens to us, or is about to happen, so that we can choose what to do? I’m afraid that I will suddenly be switched and my information instantly exposed for all to see.
I would like to have my Forums account completely deleted, however, the only reason I haven’t asked for that to be done is that I am in contact with a couple of mods who supposedly are helping me with a couple of cases. If my Forums account were completely deleted, I’m not sure they would be able to send me messages, or might at least give up trying.
How would a user go about deleting their Forums account, anyway? Thank you for any advice you’re willing to give.
My forum name is my real business name. If you search us, you will find our website, our address, even a photo of me talking to the UPS driver on google street view. If you show up, bring a good Jeep part question. Extra points if you bring (good) german beer.
Ive been thinking. Maybe, this is another small push by amazon to get rid of the dropshippers? If you got skin in the game of your business (more than a credit card and FBA account), you aren’t always hidden. A post office box costs little.
Only thing that I think I would like to have from the NSFE (though I think it’s a terrible idea and I’m happy that this version of the forums didn’t have it) would be the button. I would have, respectfully, pressed the of it during all these CM explanations…
So far the halfassed answer that has been given is that our current posting history will remain, but if we choose to start fresh, then the current forum names will be “locked” and the posting history will be available and (allegedly) unattached to our storefronts. Just our old names.
It bears saying that mods in the new forums see the old names that many of us had. So for instance they’d see “TallyTony” for me, not my preferred “ineptitude_won_nsfe”. So in short, I don’t trust the current promise of how the current posting history will be preserved in anonymity.
