Listings Lounge: Report a Violation

Hello everyone!

Ever wondered about the topics involved with reporting violations? The below information will help point you in the right direction!

Policy violations are the result of a seller violating the activities listed on the Selling Policies and Code of Conduct page. Reporting violations is a process that involves a review with internal Amazon teams. Results of investigations are not shared due to privacy reasons, but are acted upon for any activities they find appropriate.

There are several kinds of violations the can be reported on in the Report a Violation tool:

  • Intellectual Property (Copyright, Trademark, Patent) violation - Amazon's Report Infringement forms are intended for use by intellectual property rights owners and their agents to notify Amazon of alleged intellectual property infringements such as copyright and trademark concerns. For intellectual property violations, you can report a violation in Brand Registry and if not registered in Brand Registry, use the Public Notice Form.
  • The product received is different than the product on the detail page - Report products for which a different product is sold than what is represented on the detail page. These include:

* Different version, model or product

* Used/refurbished/previously opened but described as new or new described as used on the detail page

* Missing parts or key components

* The serial number of the product was tampered

  • Product detail page violates Amazon’s policies or is misleading customers - Things like duplicate listings, incorrect variations, wrong category for a listing, incorrect content, misuse of keywords, and digital download abuse
  • Product detail page was changed to represent a different product - Report a product detail page that was modified to represent a different product.
  • Customer feedback that violates Amazon policies - Managing or requesting removal of customer feedback
  • An abusive message sent by a buyer - Reporting an abusive message sent by a buyer using the Buyer Messages page
  • An abuse issue that is not addressed by the other topics - Report abuse issues that are not addressed by the other topics
  • Another seller account is attempting to harm my business - Report another seller account that may be attempting to harm your business

Each topic includes relevant fields to fill and a routing mechanism that goes directly to the appropriate team for review. In most situations, you will need to provide an order ID or ASIN, and provide a detailed recap of the violation.
