Listings Lounge: Advice for Creating Compelling Jewelry Listings

Hello Sellers,

Welcome back to the Listings Lounge. Today I’m going to go over best practices for listing jewelry on Amazon. This is a complementary article to the Listings Lounge: Children’s Jewelry Compliance.

Here is a summary of the key points for listing jewelry on Amazon:

1. Provide detailed product information for jewelry listings, including total metal weight, metal type, and metal stamp. Accurately identify the minimum metal weight.

2. Do not describe a product as "hypoallergenic" unless it is free of known allergens or you have evidence it does not cause allergic reactions. Certain metals like tungsten, stainless steel, and nickel-plated sterling silver cannot be called hypoallergenic.

3. Clearly identify if jewelry is gold-filled, gold-plated, or contains other mixed metal components. Specify the gold fineness (e.g. 14k, 18k) for gold products.

4. Do not use fine metal or gemstone names to describe color - use descriptors like "gold-tone" instead.

5. Provide complete information for diamond and gemstone products, including total weight, color, and clarity.

6. Identify if pearls, gemstones, or diamonds are cultured, treated, or lab-created rather than natural.

7. Perform quality assurance on listings to ensure they meet all applicable legal and Amazon policy requirements around jewelry product claims and descriptions. Remember all your listings must meet all applicable legal, regulatory and policy requirements, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Jewelry Guidelines and the Amazon Jewelry Quality Assurance Standards.

For a full breakdown of these, see the Tips for Listing Jewelry page.

Hello, the issue we encountered while uploading the template is that we filled in the metal ID, but an error occurred: "The field 'id' for the attribute '[metals]' does not have enough values. The required minimum is '1' value(s)." We did provide content, so why is this error happening? Please help us resolve this issue. Thank you.
