So now I have orders with a sku of 3 day handling time that came in last night and if I ship them today I am at risk of late delivery and they are forcing priority shipping which is more than the cost of the item.
Mods we need your help we are only human and small makers
Hello @Seller_dVMKJ8a3J9Tx5
Thanks for checking in about your handling time settings.
Can you please give some more details about the issue you are seeing?
Are you seeing deliver-by dates sooner than you believe your shipping settings allow for?
Do you have Automated Handling Time active for your account?
@Seller_dVMKJ8a3J9Tx5@KJ_AmazonWhatever this glitch is... I am seeing it on orders also! I have a 2 day handling time. Order just came in today (Sunday) and says I need to ship today (Sunday) Priority in order to get it to the customer in next state over by Feb 12. The only options available are upgraded shipping. This is ridiculous! So Priority mail takes 7 days now? USPS Ground Advantage is 2-5 so why the complete skip to Priority?
I have my account strictly set up to only ship USPS Ground Advantage. I have no options for any other carrier or upgraded service. Why do I have these settings when Amazon is just going to override them and determine my shipping. Upgraded shipping is NOT covered by OTDR so Amazon is dictating shipping outside of OTDR protection. I have AHT and SSA enabled. So why is Amazon messing up the shipping and handling times so badly!?
Why is Amazon forcing Priority shipping when Priority shipping is absolutely considered an upgraded service and as stated in policy is NOT covered under the OTDR policy?
The policy states: OTDR Protection is only available for units shipped through Standard Shipping, units shipped through other shipping options such as Free Economy, Standard Prime, or Premium Shipping, are not eligible for OTDR protection.
In the United States, Premium Shipping options include One-Day Shipping, and/or Two-Day Shipping, which you can enable in your shipping settings.
Shipping a Standard order using USPS Priority is not a Premium Shipping service.
I ONLY have USPS GA set for all shipments in my shipping settings... but Amazon has determined that I need to ship immediately via USPS Priority. Completely overriding handling time and shipping service settings. All packages are 4oz or less.
SSA does not follow your shipping settings, and may use any service selected by a seller for a previous shipment(s) that matches the item/location for the orders in question.
As for potential mismatches between the shipping service used by SSA to calculate delivery promises: our product teams are taking a deep dive into this issue based on cases raised by sellers reporting this happening on rare occasions. I will continue to work with those teams and follow up when I have updates to share here.
I will follow up on your request in Case 16590064461 about removing the AHT exemptions.

Can you please share a Case or Order ID for this specific shipment?
@KJ_Amazon This is complete BS and you know it. This is a long documented ongoing issue that MANY sellers have reported here on the forums, and unfortunately Amazon has no incentive to solve it. This is also similar to my thread where an order was promised Saturday delivery with Fedex, and Fedex doesn't even offer Saturday delivery to that zip code (which Amazon obviously knows).
Anyways, can you unlock that thread so I can tag Bryce yet again for the followup he promised. Or do I need to make a new thread?
The same for us!
I contacted Amazon Reps and of course the same situation:
- we have 2 day shipping (not automative), Order came in that day (4p eastern) telling me I had to ship it our that day (order showing an pacific time zone). Then the only shipping would be more than our handmade ornament.
1) Have you read the policies? Yes, I have read the policy.
2) This has to be sent to the internal team that only responds by email.
3) A robotic fluff filled email several days later showing me a policy
So frustrating! Amazon - please listen to your handmade sellers (and all sellers). Your customer service is not working for you or for us! You are wasting both our time and only losing sellers/sales.
