🍂🍂 Hello all, November is here! 🍂🍂
I am going to keep this one simple and to the point.
As a new seller with Amazon, what has been your single biggest obstacle you've had to face getting started with Amazon? This could be anything. Finding a product to sell, getting through registration and verification process, listing your first item, deciding on images to use, or anything else!
We want to hear it!
I'm not a new seller but am I allowed to make an observation? If so, it seems that getting through the verification process ranks right up there as one of the biggest hurdles.
I wish Amazon would direct new sellers to go through Seller University as part of the registration and verification process rather than fellow sellers directing them there after they've come to the forum looking for help with their deactivations. I know I'm not the first to suggest this. @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp

An absolute great suggestion that I know has been discussed at length here. The registration step, including the verification is a pain point I am looking to try to address.
There are a number of variables, one of the biggest being new sellers are unaware of where to find their performance notifications. It seems new sellers with all they are tryin to accomplish and are excited for, seemingly do not visit there in time when the verification team is either awaiting additional documentation to complete, or prompt for a video verification call to complete. In either case, there is some education needed that could prevent the "I just signed up, how did my account get deactivated." We all know there are more than surface level reasons and circumstances for these notifications as well.
As always, appreciate you popping in here.

"one of the biggest being new sellers are unaware of where to find their performance notifications."
I will agree with you and @Seller_LImVvUWeyiCfQabout that, BUT given the immense number of posts that get responses and then NEVER see anything more from the OP, I believe the majority of sellers that post here (at least the raw rookies) have NO CLUE where to look to see if they have a response to their questions.
Frankly, as far as I am concerned, it is unconscionable for Amazon to allow anyone to open a selling account without having to demonstrate that they have at least basic knowledge of policies on here.
I would go one step further -- every new seller should be REQUIRED to have at least one LOA from a brand AND at least one INVOICE from an AUTHORIZED wholesale source that Amazon can vet. Most of the more experienced sellers here know for a fact that Amazon is (most likely) aware of, and has probably used, almost every legitimate authorized wholesaler in the country!
First 2 steps totally agree.
Step 3
LOA from a brand cannot be issued by most authorized wholesale sources. Also it puts the brand in a position where they're potentially violating price fixing and anti-trust laws, so if amazon does there is a lot of liability for the brand at least in the US.
Amazon has a whitelist of approved wholesale distributors given to them by the major brands. When an invoice is submitted by an unknown distributor they'll ask for the suppliers supplier.
"Aware of, and has probably used, almost every legitimate authorized wholesaler in the country!" - Def not. Most of the time the 1P / vendors are the brand itself selling to amazon. Amazon makes it very hard for a distributor to be enrolled in the vendor program.
This is definitely an obstacle. My guess is close to 100% aren't aware such a thing even exists.
The biggest problem I encountered is product compliance review, which is related to button batteries. This review process is very slow and has wasted a lot of my time. I am very distressed that it has not been completed yet.
The safe-t claims department auto denying legitimate claims. If so is the case regularly then amazon is literally stealing from sellers. This doesn't leave for a good experience for new or old sellers.
In my own case I purchased a shipping label through amazon and on the order page it says "claims protected". Supposed to be an easy case of reimbursement if the item gets lost by the carrier but... of course denied.
i shipped and it shows they received my items- but it says available: 0. Sooo are they listed or not? Why wouldn’t it show the number of items that are available?
Also- receipts for everything…hard to just sell a few things here and there because I’m blocked on everything.
1. Amazon hot following its' own policies.
2. Amazon not creating a standardized form for submitting Safe-T claims and A-Z Appeals. Simple to do, but someone must be scared of what will happen if filing claims was so easy.
