Read onlyHi,
I tried doing some research but I could not get a clear answer.
- What does merging an ASIN do?
- Why would one want to merge an ASIN?
- What happens to the FBA inventory at both skus?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Seller_JqTNGIESKyu85,
When ASINs are merged, they're combined into a single detail page. You can find more about this in the "Potential duplicates and split variations" section at Amazon's help page, which explains that Amazon maintains just one product detail page per unique product to keep things clear for customers.
For your FBA inventory question, what happens depends on which ASIN becomes the "primary" one in the merge:
You can verify this in the help article "What happens when I merge my FBA inventory?" at this link.
A couple of other things worth knowing:
Hope this helps explain what happens during an ASIN merge!
Thank you for the quick response. What does that mean "reassign"? the link provided doesnt explain that. thanks!
Also, what happens to reviews?
Can a merge happen if one page is "generic" brand and the other is for example "kitchenaid"?
