I am getting hit all over the place with Carrier Adjustment Charges. These charges are just WRONG and FALSE and I am disgusted that Amazon will not do anything about it. I sell only books. I personally weigh and package each one myself. All of the "adjustments" are for books that weigh less than a pound or less than two pounds. I can prove how much these items weigh. However, I am getting ridiculous carrier adjustment charges stating that the items weigh much much more than they do. This is happening every single week and even though the charges are relatively small, they are really beginning to ad up! I have been selling books on Amazon for about 17 years. I KNOW these charges are incorrect and I can prove it, but there is literally no way to dispute these charges. Does anyone know how I can keep this from happening? Please help!

I am reaching out with an urgent concern regarding our seller account, RK Express, which has been active for two years. Recently, we have been charged a total of $60,000 in adjustment charges, which has caused severe financial strain and led to the temporary shutdown of our business.

Our company handles all shipping through the Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN), and we take great care in packaging our products. We often use custom-sized boxes, which we sometimes cut and reshape to fit specific items. Despite our efforts to maintain accurate dimensions and weights for shipping labels, Amazon is passing on excessive adjustment charges, claiming that USPS is responsible for these discrepancies.

We understand that adjustments are made if there are mismatches in weight or size, but the scale and frequency of these charges seem unreasonable and without explanation. We have not received any clear response from Amazon as to why these charges are so high or what specific issues are triggering them.

This situation has not only affected our cash flow but has forced us to suspend operations. We are requesting immediate assistance to:

Clarify the nature of these adjustment charges and provide details of the discrepancies that are resulting in such high fees.

Investigate USPS adjustments to verify if these charges are legitimate and accurately passed down to us.

Work towards a resolution that would allow us to continue operating our business without these extreme financial burdens.

We would greatly appreciate any insights or advice from other sellers who may have faced similar issues, as well as timely assistance from Amazon support to resolve this matter.

@KJ_Amazon I'm hoping you can assist with and escalate our dispute of Carrier Adjustment Charge. We received a USPS Carrier Adjustment Charge for our order (112-1510990-7017852) due to difference in weight per USPS. The weight and dimensions for this order is correct. We’ve had previous orders for the exact same product with the exact same weight and dimensions which were never assessed a Carrier Adjustment Charge.

We submitted Case (15376127461) to dispute the Carrier Adjustment Charge and the response we received was ‘Amazon does not reimburse Sellers for chargebacks due to carrier's policies adjustments.’ and we needed to contact USPS to dispute the Carrier Adjustment Charge.

We contacted USPS APV and EVS departments and they indicated they cannot submit a dispute since we did not receive any notification by mail or have account number and would need to contact Amazon to dispute the Carrier Adjustment Charge.

This is not the first time this has happened and each time Seller Support’s response is the same. Essentially, they are saying we as the Seller have to eat the loss even though we are not at fault and the issue is at Amazon or USPS APV.
