Read onlyWill phase out my high value items as Amazon keeps directly price undercutting and manipulating what is showing to buyers.Using all kinds of tricks to stiffle competing inventories.
What did you expect? Competition is competition. It is ugly, hard and unavoidable.
I’ve stated over and over, if you lower your prices, to compete, the competition, especially Amazon, will beat you at your own game. Leave your prices alone. Charge what is sensible and profitable for you.
There are some buyers, who prefer buying from Marketplace sellers, as opposed to buying from Amazon directly.
Amazon drops their price, in an attempt, to get you, to lower yours.
Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Stand your ground.
If more sellers didn’t cave in, at the slightest inconvenience, it may be better for all 3P sellers.
Amazon stocks fewer media skus than they have in the past.
The bias is toward fast sellers and they have no reluctance to cut the price of any book which is likely to go unsold.
Far more buyers prefer to buy from amazon than 3P sellers, and for many titles you will not make the sale even if you are lower in price.
If you are going to try to compete with Amazon for book sales, make sure you have a strategy that will work, and the pricing clout to implement it.
And tonight’s weather forecast calls for Darkness… followed by increasing light in the morning.
Seriously what did you expect?
Yes-and they will grab the buy box on one of your products and not have any stock. But it’s their “sand box” and as so many posters have brought up in the past-they make the rules and can do anything they want. Pick your spots-diversify into items they don’t stock. Look for other places to sell-don’t put all your eggs in the AMZ basket. Items I can’t give away here-I can sell on Ebay or Bonanza. Most of all-be patient!!! I’ve been here for years and seen other competing sellers and Amazon stocked items come and go. Things I couldn’t give away one month might fly off they shelves two or three months later. Good luck to you!! LIZZZ
Amazon, naturally, has a love-hate relationship with sellers. Unfortunately for sellers, it’s mostly hate.
It doesn’t have to be that way but it was Amazon’s choice and will continue as long as Bezos is in charge. He is a business genius after all, without anything in his background that would indicate that. Obviously he is NOT a genius and we’d be well served to understand that. Like John D. Rockefeller, he caught a technological wave and managed to stay on top. Not genius. It’s what most people would do.
Expect more of that to continue, since eventually Amazon stockholders will want more profits. Those PE ratios of 250 are crazy and I expect they would like to eventually be in the 50 to 75 PE ratio.
Business is war. Everyone plays dirty. If you can’t handle that, you shouldn’t be selling. Especially you’re selling on their platform. You can’t beat them at their own game. Stop whining and just move on.
$15 per hour has to come from somewhere!
