💭Thinking About Selling...Magnetic Toys

Hello Sellers,

Looking to learn more about products with special Compliance rules? This is the latest installment in our ongoing series. If you missed them, check out our previous articles:

In today’s series, we’ll go over magnetic toy compliance guidelines.

We require that all magnetic products be tested and comply with the regulations, standards, and requirements listed below:

  • 16 CFR Part 1262 (Safety Standard for Magnets); or
  • ASTM F963-17 Section 4.38 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety)

You will need to provide test reports dated on or after October 21, 2022, from a third-party 17025-approved laboratory showing that the product complies with the regulations, standards, and requirements listed above.

Test reports must contain images of the tested products to demonstrate that the product tested is the same as the product listed on the product detail page. A General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) or Certificate of Analysis (COA) may be accepted, if applicable.

Note: if you are not the manufacturer of the products in question, contact the manufacturer to get the proper compliance information and reports required.

Want to make sure you're on the right track? Take a moment to check out our helpful resources on children's toys and magnet products. These pages will give you a better understanding of our guidelines before you submit your complaint:

If you believe your product been incorrectly flagged as a children's toy or magnet product, we can help sort this out! Simply reach out to our Seller Support team and open a case asking them to see why your item is listed as a magnetic toy. Once they review the item and have fixed the incorrect information, you will then need to appeal your listing by contacting the Product Compliance team in your Account Health Dashboard.

Should you encounter any difficulties or have questions regarding the review process for magnetic toys, please create a new thread, choose the “Product Safety and Compliance” category, and include your Compliance case ID.

Regards,

- Manny

Hey @Manny_Amazon,

Thanks for the article. I think sellers looking to get into the Children's Toys category should also be made aware that the compliance review process at Amazon can take a very long time. I've currently been waiting over 40 days for a response on my submitted documentation and test reports. I'm sitting on 1000s of inventory and nothing seller support can do to help.
