Read onlyHow is Amazon calculating these values? Not what they post on site but actually calculating other than ceiling numbers. We sell gold jewelry and their values in some cases are less than the intrinsic ( melt) value of the gold.
Since they dont know the weights or chain gauges how do they know?
I would like to see transparency - how about tell us 4 items how Amazon actually calculated?
They claim they compare to other products- are they comparing real gold earrings to fake gold sold by chinese sellers?
Franly I think they have no clue to what these products cost to make and are using ficticious numbers.
I would be happy to provide say 4 ASINS and lets see how they came up with the value- if they cant tell us , which I dont think they can, then clearly this is a scam
If I provide the 4 ASINS does anyone at Amazon have a clue?
@Jameson_Amazon-there you go
The cheap listings with fake gold that is clearly illegal saying it is 14K but in reality is plated - I am sure is playing a part. There was more info about how they calculated this:
On the Manage Your Sourcing Cost info page it says "We may decline your sourcing cost submission for the following reasons: Your submission is an outlier compared to similar products or our cost estimate." so clearly they are comparing it to other products.
