Hi, I just happened to come across a listing of ours in our inventory in which the fee looked odd. I click on the estimated fee per unit sold which brings up the revenue calculator. Next I click on the fulfillment fee hyperlink which brings me to a page where it says "Programs: Fulfillment by Amazon, Ships in Product Packaging"
Now, this doesn't make sense because we have never certified this to be SIPP at all, nor would we want to. A nickel savings doesn't make up for the potential damage a product can suffer in transit. Keep in mind that even though this product is in our inventory, it hasn't made it to an FBA warehouse, yet, but it soon will be.
Has anyone else ran into this before? I just don't want amazon shipping anything of ours without a box, especially in exchange for mere pennies.

If there are other sellers on the listing, then it is possible that they enrolled them. We discovered that the setting is at the ASIN level, so if one seller enrolls it, then it is enrolled for all sellers.
It appears some of our items have been auto enrolled also. But we package our items for FBA the same way as we ship FBM. So, usually there isn't an issue.
My product was "auto enrolled" in this and it immediately started to produce removal orders for damaged unsellable products. After I received the first few back I saw the "damage" and "unsellable" condition was caused by Amazon's label being placed directly on my poly bag. My poly bag has my label on it and they can't remove the labels from returns so they deem them unsellable. It took me 15plus back and forth on my opened case re "your labels destroy my product" until I got it removed. The final answer was" it will still show on your listing the product ships SIP but we changed it in the system. Ever since, my removals stopped.
Hello @Seller_pyCNvcu4niexi @Seller_PTpw5SQTsiboc and the other sellers in this thread. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the FBA Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) program.
Can you please share a Case ID or other information about any specific ASINs you have enrolled in the program that you believe were auto-enrolled that you do not want to be?
If you choose to unenroll a product from SIPP, you can request to decertify it by contacting Amazon Selling Partner Support. Amazon will review your decertification request within three business days and send a confirmation email that your request is approved.
Thanks for that update @Seller_pyCNvcu4niexi. I reached out to the SIPP partner team for clarification, but Case IDs with those ASINs from you or @Seller_f4a7xAPCCSMqD @Seller_PTpw5SQTsiboc @Seller_z3XfkorVSmnEY will help us track that answer down.
If you are looking for case IDs for having products removed from SIPP that were not enrolled by us, here are ours:
We have a lot more ASINs since then that have also been enrolled in the program by others, but I have gotten tired of wasting my time by having to copy and paste the ASINs one by one when there are pages and pages of them. Very frustrating.
Thanks for those cases and examples @Seller_f4a7xAPCCSMqD.
I shared this thread and the seller feedback with the SIPP partner team. They appreciate the feedback and are working on ways to provide more proactive notification of product enrollment.
Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) frequently asked question
"Once the products are certified SIPP, they have to meet damage rate limits, otherwise it will be automatically decertified. Additionally, any violation of Amazon policies or guidelines may result in decertification of the products. To learn more about triggers for decertification and how to rectify decertifications, go to Ships in Product Packaging Decertification."
The team informed me that once a product is enrolled they tightly monitor reports of damage or other issues, and decertify the ASIN. They also let me know that once a product is decertified it will not be readded to the program.
It is nice to hear that this is the case because support told me the opposite originally.
I am honestly surprised that these are getting certified because the products in question are children's clothing items in a poly bag that has small holes in it to let air out, so it is very possible that the product could be damaged when shipping without any other packaging.
@KJ_Amazon Are brand owners given any control over preventing sellers from enrolling their products in this program?
@Seller_pyCNvcu4niexi @Seller_f4a7xAPCCSMqD @Seller_z3XfkorVSmnEY @Seller_PTpw5SQTsiboc any success in unenrolling your products? I am just realizing my entire catalog has been auto-enrolled. Seller support is not helpful, and although the platform makes it very easy to enroll, there is still no unenroll button. I appreciate any input. Thank you!
