Read onlyISBN for the book in front of me is the same as the one ISBN and title on Amazon but for a different PUBLISHER and YEAR. How on earth do I fix this? In the past when I've tried to list my book as a new product due to a similar issue, my entry is rejected because of same ISBN. When I've tried to fix the data on Amazon's listed book (the other day, absolutely wrong info listed), the auto-reply tells me to make my newly (correct) listed info conform with their ISBN.
When Amazon's entered ISBN is wrong or data incorrect, I have not been able to correct anything or list an accurate data for my books, so I just give up and don't list at all. Any ideas?
Frustrated bookseller
That is the correct approach.
Once upon a time, if you followed procedure, it was possible to correct detail pages with Seller Support help. After covid -- I waited several months to let things settle down before I tried and I had zero percent success. Just knee jerk template refusals. Covid means never ever having to do your job again.
I quit trying. If the error is grievous, just don't list that book on Amazon. If the error is of little import -- ignore it.
You are probably dealing with a follow-up printing by a different publisher, which sometimes happens through rights reversions or acquisitions. Another possibility is it's reprinted with permission for special situations.
Not much you can do unless you are the publisher of record. Customers will likely be confused if they receive something that looks different than what they ordered.
Hello @Seller_t5XVIki1eYKj2,
I understand your frustration related to listing your book. I would recommend trying to get this sorted out with Support. If you have tried to do this and still running into difficulties, please share your case ID with me here, and I'll research in more detail to see what options exist.
