Read onlyHello all,
Would appreciate any advice on this. We ship many LTL orders which would cost quite a bit to deliver, but we are having an issue where customers would wait until the last few days of the delivery time frame and then cancel the order before it reaches them. We would then need to spend an additional amount of shipping to have the item returned to us. We wouldn't be so worried if it was 1 or 2 orders, but it's starting to become multiple orders every week. That really builds up into the hundreds if not thousands of dollars in extra shipping that we need to do for orders that are getting refunded anyway. Have you guys heard of any strategy to deal with that or anything we could do? Appreciate any thoughts, thanks.
Is it worth paying to have it shipped back vs refund? Depending on the cost of the original item, you can ask the carrier to dispose instead of re-consigning-that way the buyer will not receive the item and a refund, and if you can handle the loss, then ask the carrier to dispose of it. We do a lot of LTL and that happens.
