Spring is the season of new beginnings, and we’re bringing the spirit of growth and renewal to the Seller Forums by asking our selling partners to share with one another:
What’s the first dollar you made as a business owner?
We're accepting responses on this thread only from now until 11:59PM PT on March 19 – the first day of spring – at which point 10 lucky respondents will be randomly drawn and awarded $100 in Amazon gift cards. We will notify the potential prize winners via their Forums account, and post the winner’s usernames on Forums. US residents only, 18+. See the full rules in the "What are the U.S. Sweepstakes Terms and Conditions" section here.
Can't wait to hear from you all! Happy Spring!

I don't see any other posts at the moment, so I will ask for clarification. First dollar on Amazon or where we started our selling journey (different platform)? The type of currency? When was it? What product or category? I'm not sure what the question is asking! Please clarify!
Not falling for this again ... but ... since it's random maybe I'll win.
Selling friendship bracelets when I was about 8 years old. Every one that I sold for $1 allowed me to buy 10 more colors of floss (This was back when you could get 10 DMC flosses for $1 when they were on sale!!)
I’m not sure I actually made any money and only just accumulated more and more floss 😂
The first dollar I made as a business owner was from half.com back in 2004... and it became part of eBay a few years after, and then it's gone.
My first dollar as a bookseller business-owner on Amazon was my second sale because I lost money on the first one. Don't remember the title, it was abt 15 years ago. : )
My first sale in this CURRENT business was for a handmade potholder.
We sold umbrellas that we bought in bulk from Chinatown NYC under our own Generic listing :)
The first dollar I made as a business owner was from selling a hand-stitched, leather seat cover.
Eh. Why not.
I used to sell lemonade on the corner! Probably only ever made a few bucks (but I'm sure my mom paid more for the supplies than I actually made).
Plus...was I the only kid who drank half of the lemonade?
The first dollar I made as a business owner was from selling Wii bags, its a feeling hard to describe when you make that first profitable sale, it was also one of the first products I sold through amazon that became a success, it opens up the possibilities to "what could this turn into?" if you put yourself to it.
Being a merchant in commerce / ecommerce has been a journey, the transition to ecommerce has been interesting and Im wondering where that one dollar years ago will take me now.
