"You currently have limited access to Amazon selling services."

Sometimes it is as simple as putting in some credit card corrections.

This is my standard credit card template so use what applies!

Amazon is weird on so many levels and this seems to work at least sometimes!

First, be sure it is an actual CREDIT Card. While Amazon claims that a Debit Card will work, that is seldom true! They WILL charge a Debit Card for initial fees but they will NOT take it on continuing basis most of the time despite their claims!

Put the card number into your BUYER side account first. Wait an hour (sometimes less) for the gerbils to work their way through the system and then put it in the SELLER side.

There was one recent response from a seller on a post that they DELETED the card that was on the buyer side and put the SAME card back in after a little bit and it fixed the problem. Amazon is a maze of broken links in their antiquated software.

Here are a couple threads where an OP says it worked.

Ongoing Issues Listing a New Product amazon assigned the wrong category "Pet Food" and is asking me to get approval– No Resolution from Support

I've been trying to list a new product since Monday, February 3rd, but due to repeated Amazon errors and unhelpful support, I still haven't been able to do so.

First, my account was marked as inactive, requesting document re-uploads—but there was no option to upload them. After countless calls and chats with Amazon support, I finally re-entered my credit card information (even though it was already approved), and miraculously, my account was reactivated on Friday, February 7th.

I then entered all the required information to list my product. My category approval for Grocery & Gourmet Food was granted, so by Saturday, I should have been able to publish my listing. However, when I tried to edit the item, I encountered a new Amazon error: I was suddenly required to apply for an additional, unrelated category—Pet Food—which I never requested or mentioned.

Since Saturday, I’ve been stuck in the same frustrating loop with Amazon support, trying to get this error fixed so I can list my product. Unfortunately, support has been anything but helpful. Here’s what happened today:

At 3:00 PM, I spoke with Jadyn R., who said she would check with the investigating team for an update. She acknowledged the urgency and confirmed that the case status remains "Work in Progress."

This morning, I noticed my case had been incorrectly marked as "Answered" after speaking with Jazmine M., despite the issue not being resolved. She also claimed to have escalated the matter but said there was nothing else she could do.

When I asked Jadyn R. if I could speak with a supervisor, she told me that sellers with my account type are not allowed to escalate to a supervisor.

It's now been over a week, and I'm still unable to list my product. I have to beg support every day not to ignore my case or mark it as resolved when it clearly isn’t.

Has anyone else dealt with a similar issue? How can I escalate this and get a real resolution?

More and more frequently Amazon is taking a TWO STEP approach and you are probably caught with not doing one of the steps (or either one!)

It sounds like you are confusing AMAZON allowing you to list (or at least "ungate") an item or category and actually being APPROVED to sell a product. Amazon might ungate you for a CATEGORY, but there can be 100's of brands in the category and they ALL have their own restrictions.

AMAZON is only interested in FEES. They will allow a chimpanzee to list if it means they collect $$$$$.

Additionally, brands that you COULD sell yesterday may be restricted today or next week. Amazon is a moving target to deal with.

DO YOU have an LOA from the brand allowing you to sell on here?

If you have an LOA that specifically says you can sell on Amazon you MIGHT survive listing items.

More and more brands are providing a "whitelist" of their approved sellers and if YOU are NOT on the list you will be stopped in your tracks and probably hit with an IP violation.

DID YOU source from AUTHORIZED wholesale sources that your rep at the brand says are OK? You DO have a sales rep at the brand, don't you?

If you have opened any cases provide a number so any MOD that happens to drop by can look it over to see if they can help.

Without a case number in the posts it wastes time for everyone. I no longer tag anyone if there is no case #.

They have to ask for it and then wait for a reply from the poster and then the poster has to wait again for the MOD to find the case, and then more waiting.…

"she told me that sellers with my account type are not allowed to escalate to a supervisor."

In other words, you are on the individual plan and not paying the $40/month, correct?

Start here for the next couple weeks while you sort through at least the basics of selling here since it sounds as if you may have missed a few things along the way.

Thank yo for the information, it was very helpful.

The case number is 17173008381 but they closed it again saying my brand is not approved, but it appears as approved on my list of requests. so far, both my brand and the category gourmet food appear as approved, so it looks like I am ready to sell (unless there is something else I am missing)

The only issue I see form my end is that amazon assigned additionally the category pet food but I am not selling pet food and never mentioned pet food anywhere on my application

My brand is new and it is my own brand so I just filled out the form and uploaded the pictures that amazon requires, after that it appears as "approved" so i assume it is approved.

I will keep reading to try and find if there is any other issue as amazon support just keeps closing the case without any resolution

I wanted to clarify something regarding Brand Registry. I understand it's not mandatory, and since this is a brand-new product, I'd like to start selling as soon as possible without initially enrolling in Brand Registry. My understanding is that having a sale recorded is a prerequisite for applying for a trademark with the USPTO. Therefore, I'd like to begin selling first, then pursue trademark registration with the USPTO, and finally enroll in Amazon Brand Registry.

Is this approach feasible? If so, do you have an estimated timeframe for when I can begin selling?

On a separate note, I'm still seeing an error in my Amazon account related to the "pet food" category. This category appears on my list of requests, but I never requested registration for pet food. My product is not pet food. Could you please provide an update on when this issue might be resolved?

While you study go into vacation mode to protect your account.

Could you please provide an update on when this issue might be resolved?

cases related to this, still pending:

Hi Neverlast, you have been really helpful with all the issues I have had, tagging some moderators is specially really useful, I checked the moderators and noticed some of them had their last interaction months ago, so they are probably no longer moderating the forums. do you know by any chance if there are any other new moderators we could tag?

here is a list of their last interactions for your information:

@CR_Amazon (5 days ago)

@Jim_Amazon (1 hour ago)

@Stevie_Amazon (7 months ago)

@SEAmod (3 months ago)

@KJ_Amazon (20 hours ago)
