We lost the "buy box" for over half of our products

Hi Amazon Professionals,

We have been selling on Amazon for years, well aware Amazon policies and doing our best to maintain our account health. We lost listings' Buy Box option for over half of our products (300+) overnight with no reasons.

Contacted seller support many times but none are able to provide solutions. Any experience sellers with this same issue, thank you for your advise!

Account Health Rating - 204

Order Defect Rate - 0%

Late Shipment Rate - 0%

Valid Tracking Rate - 100%

This also happened to us last night (May 29th). I posted my own query to the forum a few minutes ago, before I saw your post. Amazon definitely changed something last night.

We may be selling different kinds of products than you (we sell new books) but I'll tell you what happened last night that never happened before. A) Amazon gave the Buy Box to sellers of used copies of the books we sell, even if their prices were the same or almost the same as ours.

B) Amazon removed us from the Buy Box even for products for which we are the one and only seller.

By the way, our metrics are almost the same as yours.

Neither of the two changes above benefit buyers. Hopefully this is a mistake and AZ will change things back.

Yes, this situation is really troubling. We build our own products and are the only sellers, and our account is perfectly healthy, it's just that a lot of products have lost their Buy Box.

Have you checked the "competitive price?" Often times, buy box eligibility is removed because of outside pricing.

Sorry about my late reply. I was in such a panic when this happened that I commented in multiple threads and didn't see your reply in this one until just now. If you had anything to do with restoring our account back to normalcy regarding FOE - thanks very much!!! It was scary for a while. Sleepless nights. same here, perfect account health long-term = 0% of the buy box.

I don’t use FBA. Permanently relegated to the dungeon, never to be viewed by a seller.

It has been a decent 13 year run, dying slowly by attrition.

Amazon just keeps taking from the third party sellers and giving our inventory and or funds away to customers. It has got so bad that we went from 17,000 listings and over 700k per month in sales to 3,000 listings and under 200k per month. They continue to change metrics and which count towards what and rules and expect your account to be adjusted to whatever whim they decide instantaneously or layoff 80% of your workforce overnight. They let other sellers make counterfeit claims and count it against you if they decide one of the distributors that you have sourced from and sent invoices in for the past 7 years no longer has the necessary wording required. What wording is required? Oh you want me to guess what is missing according to the new rule that was implemented overnight. What is the new rule? Oh, you want me to guess that also. We have slowly been sending listings to other platforms that offer the slightest bit of support for their sellers. Thank you Amazon for the years of business. I am truly grateful as you have helped to build the business we now have.
