SSA – Still extends delivery promise with perfect OTDR?

@Jameson_Amazon

Hi everyone,

I've been using all three tools to whole my inventory to protect my OTDR since August 15, 2024, namely: SSA, AHT, ABS.

Why the promised delivery date that customers see is later by 4-5 days than the "Deliver by" date that I see in Seller Central? This applies to every delivery zone. When I receive an order, I enter the customer's zip code into the "Choose your location" box on Amazon and it always ends up being much longer than what I see on Seller Central. Starting from August 15, when I started using all 3 tools, everything was fine and the promised delivery dates were displayed correctly both for buyers and for me in Seller Central. But since September 3rd, everything has changed.

I was confident that if I used all three tools I mentioned above and my OTRD metric is perfect, then the delivery date that customers see would not be extended and customers would see exactly what I see on the order details page in Seller Central.

I understand that the additional time that Amazon may add to your configured promised delivery date to account for logistical factors that might delay a delivery, including extreme weather, transportation network constraints, or a recent history of delivering after the delivery date without promise extensions. But that's not the point, because this has been going on since September 3rd to this day, and because I'm not the one who configures the promised delivery date, it is Managed By Amazon.

- We ship on time and the orders receive the first scan the same day.

- My current On-Time Delivery Rate 99.87%

- The Fulfillment Insights Dashboard page shows that my delivery promises were extended by 0.4 days. But in fact, customers see 4-5 days longer than what I see on the Order Details Page in Seller Central.

If Amazon still extends my delivery promise to customers even though I use SSA, AHT, ABS and my metrics are perfect, I want to know why, by how many days, how long will it last, and what I need to do to keep it from being extended.

I assume that some of my orders may still be delivered after the "Deliver by" date in Seller Central, but these statistics are not displayed anywhere and are taken into account in the metrics behind the scenes, and therefore Amazon is extending the delivery promise that customers see. I have looked into all possible policies on this and still have not found an answer.

My sales have dropped 60-70% in the last month because of this.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any thoughts on this?

We are experiencing the same exact issue. We noticed the issue while having SSA and AHT enabled and while disabling SSA to see if that was what was causing the issue. The delivery dates being displayed to buyers in my own state were 2 weeks out with SSA and between 1 week and 2 weeks with 2-3 delivery to my own state with SSA disabled.

Amazon is not displaying accurate delivery times to buyers and it has destroyed our sales.

I posted about my experience here.

We are experiencing this exact same issue. We have multiple cases open but Seller support has not resolved them. Amazon is adding 4-5 days when using SSA and AHT. We have an average delivery of 6 days and Amazon shows 11-13 days on the detail page. Needless to say we aren't converting on anything now.

I have noticed this for the last month and was super confused about it as well. Our handling time is set for 1 business days, plus 4 day shipping - but they added 5 days when a customer checks out which is killing our sales as well.

Would appreciate if Amazon can look into this and fix!

Our deliveries are also getting extended an extra few days for no reason when our average Actual delivery time is 4.3 days..

This is grossly manipulative and extremely mismanaged to the extent that it is so effing obvious

Hi @Jameson_Amazon,

I received your answer to my question in this thread.

img

You're saying that my delivery promise was extended because my OTDR without promise extensions is 84%, which is below 90%.

Where exactly does the OTDR partner team see this? Since this does not match what I see on my Order Fulfillment Insights Dashboard. I see that my OTDR without promise extensions is currently 99.8%.

img

So your answer convinces me that something is completely broken. I absolutely do not understand what is happening and why my delivery promise was extended. From what I can see, this should not have happened.

Please help me figure this out. @KJ_Amazon

Have you received any update from Amazon? I have 2 cases open, one from 10/4 16342169241 and another from yesterday 16381187121. No updates from the internal teams. This is a dire situation and nobody at Amazon gives a flying hoot.

Our numbers for this time of year should be climbing in Q4. Instead Amazon's decision to show buyer insanely long delivery dates has our sales 1/5 of what they should be. This is unsustainable for any business I guess Amazon really does want us small business owners to collapse.

I haven't even seen a mod chime in on this thread even with several tags. I'm truly lost here and nobody seems to have a map.

@Rose_Amazon@April_Amazon@Michelle_Amazon You have helped me in the past, perhaps you can take a look? I can't wait another month for the internal team to finally look at this just to give me some nonsense answer to a question I never asked.

I still see no acknowledgement to this threads existence from any mods, very scary considering it is damaging so many businesses.

This is starting to seem like it's been done to push buyers towards FBA sellers to increase overall revenue for Amazon, which is a violation of FTC laws, consumer protection laws, and unfair competition laws.

After experiencing the same issue as everybody else here for the past month or so, and reading all your posts, I can't help but come to the conclusion that Amazon is no longer interested in the FBM model.

They want to railroad us all into using FBA, so they can milk us for every dime possible, and this is their plan to do it.
