We ship our books by Media Mail, and today, we are unable to use Media Mail for 75% of our orders because the Delivery By date is Friday, November 10! That is only 4 days from now -- in no way will Media Mail take only 4 days.
I called Amazon customer support, and was hung up on. Can a moderator please help? My only options seem to be (1) spending big money on Priority Mail (I will lose money), (2) cancel 75% of our orders, or (3) stand in line at the post office to use Media Mail... but in that case, we will likely not meet the Deliver By date.
This is not just one item -- it is EVERY item we sold this weekend. The Delivery By date is wrong and needs to be fixed! Is anyone else having this problem?
Check Check Check
Start with handling time. Make sure Amazon has not changed your default.
Then check every shipping template; make sure automation has not been allowed.
That said -- you aren't forced to use Amazon buy-shipping. As long as you meet the delivery date, you can buy shipping labels elsewhere and enter the tracking to confirm.
Hello @Seller_JfvDr5O78g05q. @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl gave a good suggestion to check your handling time and other shipping settings to make sure nothing has changed that affected the delivery dates.

Yes it is not just this one seller. I and MANY others on the forums are saying the same thing. All the USPS options are NOT showing. Many dont see the media mail options, and many do not see the ground advantage options. This is not just one person, it is affecting many sellers.
Hello,
I just want to update anyone who is following this chain. A thank-you -- and apologies to -- @bookwormapril; it turns out that automated shipping HAD been turned on for all of my listings, without my knowledge. I am definitely NOT the one who turned it on, so it must have been done by Amazon... I don't know when this happened, but I suspect it was on Friday or over the weekend.
That said, the Deliver By dates Amazon is providing on the automated shipping are completely wrong. For any other sellers who are having this issue, please follow April's advice above. (Go to Shipping settings to check.) I will add that to check if automation is on, look at the toggle switch at the left side of the page. If the white toggle is on the right, then automation is ON. (Nowhere on the page does it explicitly say that automation is on; thanks, Amazon.) Toggle to the left to turn it off, and then you can set your own Deliver By window below.
I ended up cancelling 75% of my orders yesterday (my only real option, since I would have lost a significant amount of money sending everything by Priority or Express)... but I have at least fixed the problem. I urge everyone to check their shipping settings, as it appears that Amazon has turned on automation as a default... and the Deliver By windows are clearly wrong.
Amazon reps... please stop giving "Answers" without checking on anything. It is no better than the bot-driven garbage that we get from Seller Support. It's so frustrating when no effort is made
The issue is not handling time.
The issue is clearly a communication error between Amazon and USPS. E.G....Amazon is making a delivery promise for a small light item of 3 days based upon USPS Ground Advantage. However, when we go to ship the item just moments later, Ground Advantage ($3-4) is not one of the options we have. Instead we are forced to use UPS for $8.50.
This is because Amazon's interpretation of the quote data that USPS is providing is wrong. I can go to USPS with all of the same info, and it will quote me a 3 day delivery to Illinois. Through Amazon Buy Shipping, the same service quotes 6 days, and thus I cannot ship that way because it "Will not arrive on time".
If I ship outside of Amazon, I risk getting in trouble. You are forcing us to use a broken system. Please fix it.

Thank you for checking. Some of these orders using buy shipping with Priority Mail claim it will take 8 days to arrive and are making them ineligible to use buy shipping with for me.
I understand amazon is adding extra time due to transit delays for the holidays, but adding THAT much time is overkill.
For future reference, there is an inbetween shipping service called GROUND ADVANTAGE. It replaced the old 1st class package and retail ground shipping services for USPS. It goes all the way up to 70 lbs (vs. 1st class package only went to 15.9 oz). This is much cheaper than Priority and usually arrives in less than 4 days in my experience.

I checked our templates and settings and found nothing that would be creating these issues. I have had to go outside of Amazon for about half our shipping today due to this.
This has been going on for almost a week now.

Saturday is a Federal holiday and will be observed by USPS on Saturday. Hello,
I noticed this too. They changed some things in the standard shipping option. This option you have to ship before 2pm now. You can enable the free economy shipping option. It says it will get there a lot later but this should fix your problem. Thank you!
I had the same issue, Priority mail was showing 10 days to deliver.
I had started a similar thread the other day. I'm sure it is due to the Federal Holiday this Saturday, 11/11. I am shipping off platform. Hello,
I noticed this too. They changed some things in the standard shipping option. This option you have to ship before 2pm now. You can enable the free economy shipping option. It says it will get there a lot later but this should fix your problem. Thank you!

I had started a similar thread the other day. I'm sure it is due to the Federal Holiday this Saturday, 11/11. I am shipping off platform. My orders show that Media Mail or Ground Advantage (depending on which template the item was purchased under) was used to calculate the delivery promise. I am shipping via the method used to calculate the delivery promise, even if it arrives a day or two later than the promised date. It is Amazon's delivery promise that is wrong. I cannot be expected to pay double or triple the amount of what I charged for shipping to meet an unrealistic delivery promise, and I am betting some items will still arrive on time. That's the risk I have chosen to take and let the chips fall where they may...
