Inputting new FBA products...2 questions...
1.should offer release date and merchant release date be set to the same date? I'm trying to plan out my "launch" and want to have a specific date I can advertise that it becomes available for sale on Amazon.
2.Let's say for example I have both offer and merchant release date set to Nov. 30th, but Amazon receives and puts my inventory in their warehouse by Nov. 25th, will it become available for sale on the 25th or it's automatically delayed until the 30th?
Your listing release date and the merchant release date are two different things.
Merchant Release Date: The date the product is release by the maker of the product.
EX 1: The new DVD movie release date is July 4th. Best buy gets their order of 144 units on the movie on June 15th. They cannot sell the movie until the merchant release date of July 4th.
EX 2: The digital code contained in a DVD or Blu-ray, expires 2 years after the release of the release date. Thus, if you sell media online, you better make sure the Merchant Release Date is in the listing.
EX 3: The company releases a new model of the same product. Looking at the merchant Release Date buyers can see if this is the new current model, or the model made 7 years ago.
Personal Listing Date: The date a seller wants their listing to go life in the Amazon Catalog.

Hello there, my name is CR and wanted to hop in here to see if you still needed some assistance. You've received a great response above by fellow community member, @Seller_CW0P5hgbsiqWX- thank you!
I only wanted to hop in here to share this resource that was created a couple of months ago in our "Listings Lounge" series that goes over the differences between Offering Release Date and Merchant Release Date that I think would be helpful for you to review.
