I had an older listing with no variations. I understand that in order to add variations, I needed to add a new parent listing and add the older ASIN to the new parent listing so all of the variations could appear on the same listing.
However, when I created the new parent listing with the older ASIN, all of the FBA inventory stayed on the older listing that was not a parent listing.
I asked Amazon Seller Support how I could fix this and they responded that I would have to create a removal order, send all of the old inventory back to myself, re-label it with the new FNSKU (under the parent listing) and then send it back to Amazon under the new FNSKU. The alternative appears to be to send new inventory to the new FNSKU and wait to sell out of the older FNSKU.
Is creating a removal order REALLY the only way to fix this inventory situation? Halp!!
