Has anyone else in the handmade community noticed changes in the available attributes? For example, when I create a new listing under the product type (Handmade Products > Stationery & Party Supplies > Party Supplies > Party Favors), I used to see a variety of attributes like color, shape, design type, and material. Now, they're missing, and instead, I’m seeing unrelated options like "Part Number" and "Number of Shelves," which don't apply those product types. Amazon Support told me that these attributes were removed from the inventory options and advised me to use a flat file, but even there, most of those key attributes are still missing. I'd prefer entering them manually, but it seems those options are no longer available. Could this be an error that Amazon is trying to fix?
"How are your products made" is also missing from the listing and editing process, but the info still appears on the live listings with no chance to edit.
If you scroll this forum for "category listing report" you will see that this report is missing information in nearly half of the columns that SHOULD contain data. Most of them in the DISCOVERABILITY area.
AMAZON tells us that the flaw is in the report, NOT in our discoverability of live listings. Reports of extreme traffic and sales loss would say this is not true.
If you download the report, add the missing information and upload it to Amazon, it does not update, other sellers have reported this for months and created many posts and cases with no changes from Amazon.
Handmade is a mess.
Stickers also ask for number of shelves and if it has batteries. Copying from product to another online using Manage All Inventory results in new unexpected categories with irrelevant attributes.
The flat files are even worse with wildly irrelevant attributes being required.
Hey @Seller_BLdLaOgNaGxZo,
We recently communicated the New Listing Experience that has been launched for Handmade products.
You can see the full announcement and FAQ here.
As well as in the Handmade Hub.
Handmade now has the Handmade Classification Attribute that should be added to all Handmade ASINs when you list your product which differentiates Handmade ASINs from the rest of Amazon and allows you to receive Handmade specific benefits such as: waived monthly selling fee, access to the Handmade Hub and community group, dedicated account management for specific sales tier selling partners and more.
Handmade has not yet begun the migration process but we have started the first step which is enabling the new listing experience for all Handmade selling partners.
At this time, you may still see the old experience live as we did not want to remove prior to peak holiday season.
The next step will be to re-classify existing ASINs to standard product categories. Handmade is working on a way to continue to have Handmade specific categories and subcategories appear in navigation but this will take time.
Our team cares about your success and your small business and we will continue to work hard to deliver results for you.
Thank you,
The Handmade team
