customer return delivered to to the wrong address with amazons ups label, customer is requesting a refund how should proceed? are return labels covered under amazon claims protection. looking for some advice on how to proceed.

after contacting ups the item was returned to an amazon facility since amazons ups account was used to purchase the label.

That is a common scam.

Buyer prints the return label and alters your address and sends it to their buddy. RFS refunds in full, they keep the product and refund. your problem is you do not have the actual label with the asterations to use in your defence. So, you have to use the tracking data in your claim. Make sure you save a copy of the return tracking.

We had one better that we actually investigated with the police. The buyer, only 90 miles away, purchased items, and made a return requests. He used the return labels, with his return address on them, to ship out his new products to his buyers. Simply by altering the address. His plan was to save on shipping.

I had a customer switch 2 return labels and I got back Amazon's $100 dress and Amazon got my $20 Christmas ornament. They never did anything about it and I eventually sold the dress locally for $20 to get my money back.

I doubt they will send your item back to you, but maybe you can get your money back on a Safe-T claim?

We had an item incorrectly returned to an Amazon facility in the past. It took about a month, but Amazon eventually was able to track it down with help from the carrier and returned it to us. You are 100% responsible for refunding the customer in these cases and that is why they were granted the A to Z claim. It is not the customer's fault that the item was returned to the wrong address.
