Account vacation settings and support for the holidays

If you plan to take time off over the holidays, we recommend that you update your vacation status to avoid missing orders that could affect your performance. This setting temporarily removes your seller-fulfilled listings from product detail pages and search results.

To set up vacation status, go to: Store status and vacation settings.

If you plan to send seller-fulfilled orders on public holidays, we recommend that you manage your holiday settings to override a public holiday and change it to an “operating day.” Allow up to four hours for any changes to be reflected in your delivery promise and orders received.

To override a public holiday, go to: Holidays.

For more information about vacation status and holiday settings, go to: Listing status for vacations, holidays, and other absences. and Manage Holiday Settings.

To get support during the holidays, contact Account Health Support a dedicated support channel for you to ask questions about your account health.

Account Health Support will have special hours of operations during the holiday season:

  • December 25, 2024–Support will be closed and will resume on December 26, 2024.
  • January 1, 2025–Support will be closed and will resume on January 2, 2025.

For more information, go to: Account Health Support FAQ.

UPS & most other carriers do not pick up or accept packages on Christmas eve or New Years Eve....How is Amazon going to handle this? We do not ship anything with the postal service as they are notoriously unreliable.

You actually NEVER take a vacation as an Amazon Seller, as you are always required to answer questions and respond to customer complaints. You get used to it, doesn't mean you like it.

"To get support during the holidays, contact Account Health Support..."

Does this mean that's the only support channel during the holidays, or did you have your stellar AI write this post?

Also, why are the Bangladeshis (or whomever you've hired at $1/hr to offer "support") taking Christmas off? Are you now also dictating which religion your grunts need to follow?

We always take the day after Thanksgiving off (Black Friday). We zero out our inventory #'s on Wednesday around noon and ship any open orders until 5pm. We then repopulate the numbers Friday at 2pm (our cutoff for the day) and get back to shipping on Monday. It takes a few hours for our software to send all the numbers. Would turning on vacation be a better choice and if so what times of turn on/off is best?

I would like to request a feature to schedule vacations for the future, so I do not have to turn it on at the start and turn it off at the end. This will enable proper shipping estimates as well so that it is properly shown to customers when items will ship for our FBM items.

Also an automatic vacation responder would be great as well for CS messages.

Are there any plans to add Christmas Eve and New Years Eve to the Holiday list?

Just add a custom schedule that sellers can select days off and any day that is selected, push the handling time for that order to the next open business day. Easy as that. Every other competitor has this feature but Amazon does not. I've seen it suggested multiple times as well.

I can select to work on Amazon's day's off, but I cannot select to take days off around the holidays and not lose sales because of it. Seems like a one way street to me
