URGENT! Massive refunds after the eclipse
HI
URGENT! I'm Tim is there any amazon personnel that can see this. Need help!!!
We have recently gotten into an unsolvable problem and would like your help!
We sell eclipse glasses and our brand is recognized by the American Astronomical Society. The products all meet safety standards. Customers have also made purchases
As you know, the eclipse lasts just one day ,after which the product will no longer be available.
We are currently experiencing a large number of refunds. Customers claim they no longer need them. This is very unfair to us sellers. I agree that business is about honesty and trust, especially in the US market.
We are willing to refund if there is a quality problem, an error in the product, but refunding because they don't need it anymore is a disaster for us sellers. We block everything, pay high shipping cost, advertising cost, cost of products, and end up with nothing but a bunch of useless inventory.
Is there any amazon people out there that can help us?
We are just a small business. Massive refunds are breaking us.

No longer needed is a legit return reason. if you sold them via FBA they get free return shipping too. Selling something that people will only use once in 25 years was a clear no go.

It's not fair. Isn't there anything we can do to stop this?

It's not fair. But it's Amazon policy.
If you sold FBM, you should at least be able to charge a significant restocking fee for any that have been used (IMO, once used, they are not resellable).
But this is Amazon policy. Many have been saying for months that this is exactly what would happen.
Like I said, it's not fair. But no more unfair that selling a textbook for $100, only to have it returned after exam week as 'no longer needed". It's Amazon policy. And always has been.

Unfortunately, many Amazon shoppers are scumbags. I doubt Amazon will be of any help.

Sorry, but THAT was predictable..... You should never have listed them.

Couldn't there be more protection for these particular products, with refunds for damage or other reasons, rather than "no longer needed" I agree with you, but textbooks can continue to be sold, and eclipse glasses will be more than 20 years in the future!

Unfortunately, you have discovered the dark side of selling on Amazon: Buyers have learned to game the system. Browsing the seller forums will further your education.
There's no shame in cutting your losses, calling it quits, and chalking it up to getting an education about online selling.
