Small-Tme Book & DVD FBA Seller: When I started selling books on Amazon FBA in December of last year, my typical shipping costs for a 40-50 pound box were +/- $10-$14. Now I am being charged for the same weight box $26-$29 .... plus a New PLACEMENT FEE of +/-$10 (+/-$38 Total - which was +/- $10-$14 .... that's a +/- 70% increase). Together these fees are almost triple what I was paying (up to April 2024). For the Small-Time FBA Book guy, where the typical Profit per box of books may be only +/- $225, that puts a major dent in my profit margin. I may need to be more selective on the Books & DVDs I plan to ship out. ANY OTHER small-time book/DVD (Supplemental Income) people seeing a major pinch on their profit margins?

just sharing my recent experiences with the new FBA Placement fees for sending inventory to Amazon.

These placement fees have increased my shipping costs by 20-40%. And not only has the cost increased, but the inventory takes longer to arrive at fulfillment centers because I assume the placement center is now a middle facility.

Does anyone know if this is a case of paying more money to receive slower delivery service? I’m a bit frustrated that my inventory is out of stock while my shipment has been checked in, received, but has been sitting in “fulfillment center transfer” reserve for over a week now.

What would be the best way of figuring out what my average per LB cost was for my inbound shipments for the last few months?

With the new inbound program my per lb cost is varying a ton as sometimes most boxes will go local and others they'll be sent across the country.

Is there any report to show total inbound shipping costs for the month and/or a report that shows the box weights sent in for the month?
