What title do they want? we need to use keywords to get sales! This place is unbelievable!
Says it on seller central. Starting July 22. Look out!
Not in titles. They don’t belong in titles.
This is one Amazon guideline that I would absolutely love to see enforced.
Some titles on this site are downright laughable.
I wonder if they are going to employ a huge team of well trained associates, fluent in English, to go through each concerning listing one by one to ensure compliance and the appropriate application of the rule, or perhaps they will employ a totally untested and hastily written algorithm that will take more of an uncompromising 'scorched earth" approach to the issue, leaving thousands of buyers and sellers wondering whether the site was hacked as it has been left so unrecognizingly devastated.
Who knows.
The news announcement refers specifically to FBA Title Guidelines …so is this just an FBA thing?
I would say it is 99% likely that it will affect all catalog pages since the same page may have FBA and FBM offers.
This is stupid as all heck. I sell items with art images. The titles of paintings can be longer than 50 characters. That doesn’t include the brand or what the item is.
Brand + Product Name + Size + color (often two colors) + spaces is usually more than 50 characters. What do we stop saying Amazon? That is zero sales hype, just facts, way more than 50. Is there a way to request a human look at this and grant exemptions, maybe about a billion of them? eBay sometimes limits to 80 and that is a challenge on its own.
I won’t be using my brand since it’s 18 characters, customers won’t even read the long brand name.
