Inacurate fedex

fedex keep charging me unreasonable and outrageous adjustment fees. My shipping label was 34 dollars. Yesterday Amazon charged me 250 from my seller account. I reached out to seller support and they said my surcharges were for oil prices. What does that have to do with me? Like are you out of your mind, how do you charge me 284.20 for an outbound shipment that was supposed to be no more than 34 dollars. My net profit was only 100 dollars for this order. How is ir that I’m paying almost triple of my profit just in shipping ?

Thank you for sharing those case and carrier-adjustment details @Seller_xFJD7NYR07dL0

There are occasional glitches in Buy Shipping where updated FedEx Carrier-Audited info does not transmit to Seller Central. If you see adjusted charges in Seller Central even when the customer/carrier info matches, visit the FedEx website and review the detailed tracking information.

For example: below is what FedEx shows for the tracking number for shipment 114-1421068-9690632. The carrier-audited information is slightly larger than the original 13 x 14 x 12 label information. This puts the shipment above the 2200 cubic inch maximum threshold for the lower-cost FedEx One Rate shipping service, and a more expensive service rate was applied.

If you would like to dispute the adjustment, please provide photos or product details showing that the package was exactly the dimensions on the label, under 2200 cubic inches. I recommend being careful about using FedEx One Rate for packages right at that limit, especially for shipments that may expand/bend.

Hey, thank you for getting back to me. I have already submitted the pictures to dispute it. Hypothetically speaking, let’s assume that my package is 13x14x13. How are they charging me 250 for just an inch. If I would’ve entered the dimensions that they auditing me for, the freight charges woukd never be 289. I understand if you want to charge me a difference of 7 dollars for the inch that I didn’t report, but 250 is insane

FedEx shipping services and restrictions

The FedEx One Rate shipping service has strict maximum package thresholds of 50 pounds and 2200 cubic inches.

If a label was purchased with package dimensions equal to or under 50 pounds and/or 2200 cubic inches, but the carrier audit shows the package exceeds those limits, the package no longer qualifies for One Rate and a different service with higher rate may be applied.

As you have seen, the difference between One Rate and other FedEx expedited shipping services can be substantial. Looking at your package:

  • 13 x 14 x 12 inches = 2184 cubic inches.
  • 13 x 14 x 13 inches = 2366 cubic inches.

Our partner team recommends that sellers to be precise when measuring box dimensions for shipments, especially for shipments very close to that threshold, as even a one-inch difference matters for the FedEx One Rate shipping service.

It is also recommended to all sellers to be careful to avoid overpacking boxes. Boxes can bulge/expand during shipping, and even a small, one-inch expansion can cause FedEx to scan and rate a package outside of the One Rate program price.

Our partner team asked me to share that reimbursements discussed are being issued directly to the seller linked account.
