Amazon is disgusting - US Seller's lives being destroyed
I have been here for about 15 years, lots of blood, sweat and tears. I am a fashion jewelry seller and I'm now being hit with all these demands to provide testing documents for "childen's jewelry" compliance. According to Amazon, Children's jewelry is for 12 and under. Nowhere in my listings do I have that these products are for ages 12 and under. My appeals are being rejected and Amazon is determined to remove the catalog pages that I've created over the years. Funny that I never had this issue in the past, but now that I've stopped sending products to FBA, they're suddenly targeting me.
SO MUCH HARD WORK, JUST GONE IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE!
There are a gazillion listings on Amazon that are just like mine, mostly Chinese. Are these sellers being harassed?
Thank you, Amazon, for destroying yet ANOTHER American small business.
It looks like my time is done here since all my listings will be removed.
Don't think it can't happen to you. It's only a matter of time

Hello @Seller_GG74u1SdeK6EC,
I'm sorry for the frustration caused by these compliance checks on your listings. I've contacted our partner team and requested a review of this issue. I'll follow up as soon as I hear back from them.
Thanks for your understanding.

I have the same issue. Yesterday I got a bunch of compliance emails and I responded with the age group of my target customers being over 12, mostly young adults but my review request was rejected.
I am wondering what triggered the compliance team to classify my listings as "children's jewelry". I will definitely remove those triggers. Please help.

Hello @Seller_YcQyrWkoJe6NU,
I'm sorry for the trouble. We require a separate thread per each issue. Please submit a new thread and include the URL here, and I'll take a look.

They told me one of the keywords was "school". Really? So one over the age of 12 can be in school???
I took out keywords in that particular listing that might be triggering it and they STILL declined my appeal!
Another listing is a large butterfly necklace in the Women's department. I appealed and pointed out that it's a women's necklace and is categorized in the women's dept, they told me it has the characteristics of children's jewelry, so my appeal was denied.
They are declining appeals and not giving any insight as to what is triggering these flags. I have like 81 now and it keeps going up!
If they remove these catalog pages, I am DONE on Amazon. I can't take the abuse anymore! 15 years of jumping through hoops. I'm tired!!!

it is most likely that because of some keywords related to the kids like you mentioned "school" so Amazon bots possibly moved your browse node or category to children goods group. You will have to remove all of those keywords and check the category and browse nodes and move them. Happened to our backpack that are not for kids as well at least 3 times last year.
Seller_GG74u1SdeK6EC
That makes no sense. "Back-to-school" doesn't necessarily mean for children. Besides, I did remove that word and my appeal was still rejected, so...

Yeah, the number of products being affected continues to climb. I would at least like to have the opportunity to fix anything in the listings that's causing issues, but Amazon won't hear of it. I see more and more jewelry sellers are complaining here in this thread of this issue affecting them as well.
Why is Amazon refusing to work with us to correct the issue if we have triggering keywords? How can we correct the issue when we don't even know what the issue is?
I see that many of my listings have been changed by Amazon to include a ton of incorrect info, such as stainless steel products being stamped with 14k. I sure didn't add that into my listings! I know better than to do that!
Sounds like the rogue bots are out of control ONCE AGAIN and the sellers are the ones paying the price.
I cannot even begin to express how fed up I am. It's always something on here and no one at Amazon will help!

@Seller_GG74u1SdeK6ECCall seller support and ask for the catalog department, they can and will transfer you. If they refuse, keep at it because you absolutely can call the catalog department. Ask them to scan your listing for any possible compliance triggers, let them know your issue. They have a tool to do this. Then you will know what words are causing issues.
Make the required changes, send screen shots that you have done it (even though it won't show on the detail page other than your text).
Link the Case ID that you called catalog on.
If you import and manufacture anything, check the HS code on the import receipt paperwork that comes from the factory. It might be something that shows the detail of "adult jewelry" and materials. This is the government documented proof of what you are saying. Be sure the Import paperwork includes the invoice it came with and the airway bill or anything else. I will also screen shot the documents I am including and circle where it says what it is (not what Amazon says it is).

Thank you for the advice. I may have to give that a try.

Amazon is out of compliance with the real world.
Seller_TedtwIv0YRXtE
Yup, this sounds about right. If they can't get you with the ever-increasing fees, they'll find another way to bleed you dry.

I make and sell parts for adult hobbyists. I get hit from compliance requests on occasion. I always appeal and about half the time the appeal is granted, the other half I have to remove the product. There is no rational reason for this, as all products are essentially the same with minor size variation. I simply stop selling the ones they no longer allow and sell those exclusively on other platforms.

This can never be repeated enough - for the "follow the rules and you'll be OK" crowd.
But the worst part of this whole scenario is that, even if you locate a sane, rational entity at Amazon (either human or bot) and have your issue fixed, there is NO guarantee that the problem will not return.
In fact (from experience), it is likely to resurface.
In the long run, you cannot win these battles. ☠

@Manny_Amazon Today we get hassled for selling childrens products that are not childrens products. Same issue , this is not even childrens jewelry we are selling. I am convinced they do not read the appeals, and just reject them.
Meantime chinese sellers calling gold plated brass- 14K gold in earrings and crosses in the jewelry space? This practice confinues. Amazon leaves them alone to continue defrauding customers. Amazon pulls a listing, it shows up as a new listing the next day.
