Amazon is disgusting - US Seller's lives being destroyed

I have been here for about 15 years, lots of blood, sweat and tears. I am a fashion jewelry seller and I'm now being hit with all these demands to provide testing documents for "childen's jewelry" compliance. According to Amazon, Children's jewelry is for 12 and under. Nowhere in my listings do I have that these products are for ages 12 and under. My appeals are being rejected and Amazon is determined to remove the catalog pages that I've created over the years. Funny that I never had this issue in the past, but now that I've stopped sending products to FBA, they're suddenly targeting me.

SO MUCH HARD WORK, JUST GONE IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE!

There are a gazillion listings on Amazon that are just like mine, mostly Chinese. Are these sellers being harassed?

Thank you, Amazon, for destroying yet ANOTHER American small business.

It looks like my time is done here since all my listings will be removed.

Don't think it can't happen to you. It's only a matter of time

Hello @Seller_GG74u1SdeK6EC,

I'm sorry for the frustration caused by these compliance checks on your listings. I've contacted our partner team and requested a review of this issue. I'll follow up as soon as I hear back from them.

Thanks for your understanding.

- Manny

Just wanted to add that I've been trying to update listings in an attempt to remove keywords that could be triggering this, but I can't even update a lot of my listings even though I'm the registered brand owner.

This is beyond absurd.

Hello, Manny, Our entire book inventory was suspended today over one $10 book that was damaged in transit, repackaged by the post office and sent to the customer, yet for some reason we received a counterfeit/inauthentic complaint. I have emailed seller support numerous times with a copy of the invoice, clearly showing that we ordered 10 new copies of the book on 2/23/23 from a publisher. Yet, the invoice was refused because it was older than 12 months.THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE! And is unacceptable.I suspect no live person has taken a look at our letter of explanation, nor our invoice, yet we continually receive rejection notices.1). How is it POSSIBLE that because a $10 book was damaged and repackaged by the post office, our seller account is hit with a Counterfeit/Authenticiy complaint?? Makes absolutely no sense.2). Why are we as long time sellers with Amazon receiving form letters of rejection repeatedly, not just once, when we follow directions, enclose proof that the book was new, ordered from a publisher? Yet the invoice is rejected multiple times? Please advise. None of this makes any sense at all. I would appreciate your advising how to immediately reinstate our inventory and account, as this is entirely NO FAULT TO US AS THE SELLER? We could not prevent USPS damaging the package, nor how they responded (repackaged and sent to the customer).Thank you for your time,Vicki Allison

I totally agree that it doesn't make sense. Once listing is removed, we could not change any info to fix it. The only way we did is to create cases or call seller support team and ask for catalog team to help.

AMazon support has lost all common sense. They cannot even have the respect to reply or read the actual full issue of a situation. Their replies are irrelevant and canned and provide no solution whatsoever. If my grandmother had wheels she would be a bicycle.

@Manny_Amazon I'll add that we have this problem on the UK side; listings marked with 168 months as the minimum age range in Toys & Games (which should be outside of the compliance zone) get targetted by the bot for Toy and Safety Compliance issues even though the EU says that in their marked age range they should not be considered toys but Toy Collectibles (items 15+ years old).

Additionally as a feedback, approved GTIN Exemptions made in one region should be viable for all regions so that when you use Global Seller listings can be migrated to different country zones. Having to get approval for the same thing zone by zone is very cumbersome and I know you guys all say that CSAs should be responding the same way in each zone due to training, but they don't.

I was hit early this year for about 3-4 months with Pesticide violations. It was because one of the photos said "Posi Mold Technology" Their system read it as if we were selling products with mold or could have Mold. What Brake Pads? So I appealed and the listings were not removed. Also I was tired of getting different listings hit each day so updated the photos in all of the listings removing the photo that said "Posi Mold Technology" and replaced them with a new photo. Oddly enough I still get messages saying Pesticides in listings they have not hit yet. I simply submit the same appeal each time with the same photos and they listing is cleared. Just a hassle because Brake Pads do not have MOLD and it was simply a process used to manufacture them. Crazy but what do you do

Amazon is out of compliance with the real world.

Yup, this sounds about right. If they can't get you with the ever-increasing fees, they'll find another way to bleed you dry.

I make and sell parts for adult hobbyists. I get hit from compliance requests on occasion. I always appeal and about half the time the appeal is granted, the other half I have to remove the product. There is no rational reason for this, as all products are essentially the same with minor size variation. I simply stop selling the ones they no longer allow and sell those exclusively on other platforms.

This can never be repeated enough - for the "follow the rules and you'll be OK" crowd.

But the worst part of this whole scenario is that, even if you locate a sane, rational entity at Amazon (either human or bot) and have your issue fixed, there is NO guarantee that the problem will not return.

In fact (from experience), it is likely to resurface.

In the long run, you cannot win these battles. ☠

@Manny_Amazon Today we get hassled for selling childrens products that are not childrens products. Same issue , this is not even childrens jewelry we are selling. I am convinced they do not read the appeals, and just reject them.

Meantime chinese sellers calling gold plated brass- 14K gold in earrings and crosses in the jewelry space? This practice confinues. Amazon leaves them alone to continue defrauding customers. Amazon pulls a listing, it shows up as a new listing the next day.
