We want to check is product have IP (Intellectual Property) restrictions or is restricted products
It is possible to check it via SPAPI ? Or any other method ?
Hi @Seller_CkGirf8tRNDyo,
If I understand correctly, you’re asking about potential new products, not flagged trademark infringement issues for existing products (as shown on the Account Health page), correct?
As far as I know, the Selling Partner API (SPAPI) doesn’t provide information about intellectual property restrictions for new products or details about gated brands.
A good starting point for trademark and patent research could be the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) website: uspto.gov.
Hope this helps!
If you email search at asgtg and put the brand name on the subject, then a bot auto returns all mentions in the group and it can give you an idea on how aggressive the brand is
The getListingRestrictions SP-API operation will tell if you an item is (currently) restricted, but it won't tell you if approval will be automatically granted when you try it, which sometimes happens.
