.we've gotten a ton of buyers messaging us saying only half their order was sent. What to do against these scammers? I almost wonder if there are ppl working with a competitor to do this.
are they filing claims or just sending messages?
Report all of the messages with the “Report Questionable Activity” button under the message as well as in Account Health, Report Abuse.
Amazon supports bad actors unfortunately, all we can do as sellers as report the activity and hope for the best.

I experienced the same situation. When I told them I would contact UPS to confirm the exact weight of the item, they responded with, "Ok, ok, ok, I don't wanna deal with it. (FBM)
The mail system did not work properly this year. Are there scammers on amazon YES.
We had over 30 packages not delivered they are lost or fell of the mail truck. Mail system is getting worse every year. Cost to us this year over $1,000.00
Question. How many buyers' do you need to weigh a TON? :)

I'm Xander, I wanted to check in on the thread to see if you were still receiving these kinds of messages from buyers. @Seller_KSGiCfnnfnz0dis right, if you suspect that these messages are questionable, don't hesitate to report the activity. That way, the investigations team has a trail on repeat bad actors.
