Should I leave a bad review?

A seller from China bought and duplicated my intellectual property that I created. I'm trying to fight it, but it's been a challenging road so far.

I did buy a test copy and it's plainly obvious that it is my work, however the end product is inferior and to boot they stole my images, so it does not look like my product images as they purport it to look.

I can report the sale as "item not as described".

I also am in the process of getting a copyright for this specific design and I'd like to go to Amazon with the copyright as evidence to remove it from the US Amazon store, but until I get that copyright, I feel like it won't be worth it to file the complaint just yet.

The question is though, should I leave a negative review to impact their account health? It would be a legitimate bad review as the item is not what they are representing it to be. I don't want it to backfire and look like a seller sabotaging another seller although ironically that is exactly what they are doing to me.

No, do not leave a review (even a positive one) for any competitor; Amazon may see that as some form of manipulation.

Speak to the lawyer handling your Copyright filing; perhaps they can issue a C&D order; although against a Chinese seller, hard to say how effective that can be. Then there are other avenues through Amazon to follow, but leaving a bad review is not one of them. I don't know if there is anything you can do prior to receiving official copyright status; again, your lawyer is the person to ask.

Best of luck.

Hey there @Seller_Bh5toka1ycay2,

Thanks so much for utilizing the Seller Forums and asking your question to our wonderful community!

If there is a seller on Amazon who is utilizing your intellectual property, you will want to report a violation via Report Abuse.

As @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw stated, leaving such reviews on a competitor's product, store, or even sending messages to them could be a violation of other Amazon policies. Please do not do this as it will immediately put your account at risk of deactivation.

Stevie.
