Dropped off some packages yesterday at the PO (4 total)…I used a SCAN SHEET generated by Amazon for all 4 packages.
Looking at tracking, it says:
Your shipment was received at 12:15 pm on March 14, 2019 in GURNEE, IL 60031. The acceptance of your package is pending.
What does that last part mean? Does this count as being shipped on time???
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have never seen this before and this is the first time I have used a scan sheet, so I’m a little nervous about the whole process.
Thanks!
It means that they scanned your scan sheet, but haven’t scanned that individual package yet.
That’s normal when you use a scan sheet.
When the USPS system works as intended, you’ll next see a scan of the individual package within one business day, but I regularly see a delay of several days.
I saw this on something I had ordered on eBay this past week.
I’m still waiting on the package, and tracking still displays “Package Acceptance Pending”
Even though it is accepted, and no movement on it.
Considering its origin, it should’ve been here by now.
One of the reasons I only use scan sheets on the busiest of days.
If you use media mail, you may not see the status change until it reaches a sorting center several states away, and need not be late.
It means a human has not scanned the package yet, or put it into the machines that scan them individually.
YES- it counts as being shipped on time.
The scan sheet scan stops the clock for on time shipping.
On occasion - you might see you will not see an acceptance scan until it gets to the final destination sort, if the acceptance scan gets missed at the origination sort. It happens to about 1/20 or so of my packages.
The scan sheet takes prevents the late shipment ding.
