UPS paid claim on lost package, used Amazon Buy shipping but UPS sent claim check to Amazon, even though we paid the shipping.

Sent UPS package with Amazon buy shipping/veeqo. Package was lost and i filed claim with UPS. UPS approved the claim and sent the claim check to AMAZON, said it is an AMAZON account, but AMAZON Tells me that it is my account and I should receive the check.

UPS said it went to Amazon, and Amazon should sent it to me? What do I do, how do I receive the claim check? I paid for the shipping, it is our return address on package. So why is it going to Amazon? US Postal Service sends claims checks directly to us for lost package. How do i get the check?

The specific process to use was outlined by a Community Manager several months ago and has a dedicated UPS number to use. I didn't bookmark the thread but the Seller Help page link is below.

I've never seen any seller post whether the process is successful or not so it would be interesting if someone who has (or will in the future) used the process would report back.

Unfortunately, it appears you won't be able to recover your refund that went to Amazon. The help page specifically states, "Amazon may not file claims on your behalf or reimburse you for any successful claims."

File a claim with UPS when Buy Shipping was used

As these labels are actually on Amazon's account they are considered the shipper by UPS and the shipper get the funds from a claim. UPS will not change that and Amazon will not give the fund to you (known from experience). They keep the money and refund the customer so you are out product, money and shipping. From what I have saw nothing will be done. I am so sorry.

Hello @Seller_OsTCzqmnWLFhS Thank you for checking in with the forums about that UPS claim.

@Seller_LImVvUWeyiCfQ provided you with good information about contacting the UPS dedicated support number for Amazon sellers. Have you contacted that number for additional information?

If you have a support case ID you can share, I can review the details and check on next steps.

This has happened to us in the past as well since we use Amazon for shipping.

UPS sent the check to Amazon and Amazon made money twice. Amazon was gifted our money by UPS and never reimbursed us despite opening multiple tickets

Greetings,

I have completed 3 claims with UPS using Amazon's buy-shipping in the last couple of weeks. You have to contact them, it won't work trying to file the claim through your UPS account.

Just tell them you're an Amazon seller and you need to file a claim.

Note: It's faster to have them email you the claim documents.

  • Amazon/UPS Direct Contact: 1-800-711-5914

(Amazon/UPS contact will tell you to call the claims number)

  • UPS Claims: 888-611-3856
  • Email: CLAIMSSTATUS (@) UPS(dot)com
  • Claims Fax: 888-458-7703
