Hi fellow sellers,
I’m reaching out because I’m encountering a strange issue with the review ratings on one of my products, and I’m curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Here’s the situation:
My product (ASIN: B0CVNNNSYQ) currently has 7 reviews: 5 five-star reviews, 1 four-star review, and 1 one-star review.
Before the latest 5-star review was added, the product had 6 reviews (4 five-star, 1 four-star, and 1 one-star) and displayed a 4.5-star average rating.
After the new 5-star review was added, instead of the rating increasing, it dropped to 4.1 stars!
I understand that Amazon’s rating algorithm is complex and may not always result in a simple average. However, in this case, the drop in the average rating after adding another positive review seems completely illogical. This drop is not only confusing but is also negatively impacting the product’s performance.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? I’m concerned there might be an issue with Amazon’s algorithm or possibly something more concerning at play. I’ve already submitted a ticket to Seller Support and requested that it be escalated to a supervisor, but I wanted to see if anyone here has insights or advice.
Thanks for any feedback or shared experiences!
Best,
