Brand Registry Application Update - Product Image Guidelines 📷

We've been listening to feedback from our sellers, and we understand for some, the image guidelines for Brand Registry applications can be challenging to navigate.

“Your blog is easy to comprehend. However, we appreciate if you add a few visuals. Label them right and wrong (Do and Don't)”. - Mystore_general

“My application for brand registration has been rejected several times, they keep saying that my pictures aren't real, my brand name is printed on the packaging bag, and the pictures were taken by myself” - YPZHA

We listened and actioned!

We updated the Brand Registry Application Guide, a step-by-step guideline that details the enrollment process through self-service registration, to include a new section on product image guidelines. (Located on page 6 through 7)

We are also going to host a Ask Amazon event on image guideline so sellers have the opportunity to connect directly with our Brand team experts if there are questions. More information to come on this event soon!

Please let us know if you have any feedback or questions.

Best,

Sandy

If your brand sells multiple products or products in multiple trademark classes. do you need to provide examples of each product or class? Or is a single product with the brand name permanently affixed sufficient?

Thank you for updating this. I hope Amazon can also update the numerous other help pages that are lacking clarity, as well as the emails and other warnings we receive that are often misleading, incorrect, or alarming.

A couple that spring to mind:

  • Remote fulfillment with FBA
  • Disabling sales to Brazil/Mexico/Canada (and related "Deactivated Listings due to “Active” Vacation status")
  • Changing business addresses
  • "campaign is in review"

And so on.

Thank you for this but it is so difficult to get approved. I had a brand for over 5 years. then just got kicked off branding. I have tried to get my brand approved again well over 10 times again. Amazon NEVER says the reason of why it is rejected.

can we please have an EXACT STEP BY STEP GUIDE on how to do this? Thank you

Jars of pasta have stickers on them, Im applying my brand right now (cakes and such) that has a sticker pressed on it at manufacturing. It does not come off and would rip everything if you tried (like a jar of tomato sauce). I am appealing it now but dont know what to expect. We do this way so our packaging can be the same across 6 different flavors and the sticker at the end of the process is all that needs to be added on. Keeps production costs down and this sticker is permanently on there.

Is this information not clear enough
View post

Thanks. I have used that page before. It is not clear enough, specifically:

  • People who start the process as listed have no idea what will follow, which is a very scary warning stating that their account will be deactivated within 10 days because of the INFORM act.
  • There is no mention of the fact that someone has to be able to receive mail at the new address within 10 days. So, if a seller is travelling or on vacation and they don't get the code in the mail, their account is shut down. Similarly, if they make the request during peak periods, such as the holidays, it may not arrive in time.
  • After the update, Sellers get an email stating that they will be mailed a code, but there is no clarity on how the mail is being sent or when to expect it.

Based on my experience and the other posts I have seen on the Seller Central forums about this, there is significant confusion and anxiety because the process is not clear. If 10% of all sellers doing this are worried enough, that will lead to a significant support burden as well as a continued stream of forum posts about the address verification under INFORM.

I would recommend adding text like the following:

"Sellers who initiate a change of business address will be mailed a code to the address submitted. It typically takes X to Z days for the letter to arrive. You must enter the code on your Seller Central Account Health page within 10 business days, or your account will be deactivated according to the requirements of the INFORM act. If you don't receive the code, you can request a new one, but your account will remain deactivated until the new address is verified."
