Amazon is Unfairly Disposing of My Inventory – Possible Discrimination Against Chinese Sellers?

Hello fellow sellers,

I am extremely frustrated and need urgent help regarding a serious issue with Amazon’s warehouse.

I sell a product with black packaging, and the manufacturing and expiration dates are printed in black. The dates are clearly printed by the factory following standard procedures. However, Amazon’s warehouse staff wrongly labeled my product as expired and blocked me from selling it.

🚨 The most outrageous part? 🚨

Amazon’s email stated that if I don’t create a removal order by 02/22/2025, they will dispose of my inventory. But today is 02/15/2025, and they have already started destroying my products! This is a clear violation of their own deadline and an unfair loss for me as a seller.

🔹 My supplier confirmed that the dates are clearly visible and were never covered by any labels.

🔹 The Chinese warehouse staff who labeled the product followed all Amazon requirements.

🔹 Amazon seller support keeps telling me to "wait" while my inventory is being thrown away!

‼️ Is this another case of Amazon mistreating Chinese sellers? ‼️

My product follows all regulations, but the warehouse staff assumed it was expired without proper verification.

Is it because I’m a Chinese seller? Would they have done this to a Western seller?

Why is Amazon not following their own deadline and disposing of inventory early?

I have already opened a case, but seller support is completely unhelpful. I am considering escalating this issue to seller-performance@amazon.com and jeff@amazon.com, but I need advice from experienced sellers.

💬 Has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

💬 How can I stop Amazon from destroying the rest of my inventory?

💬 What is the best way to escalate this?

Any help is greatly appreciated! We need to stand up against unfair treatment! 🚨

Your product can be considered as expired at the time of arriving in the warehouse. That depends on what? Not only on the expiry date printed on the product, that depends also on the "shelf life" in your listing. Take 2-3 hours to read AND understand following thread. It is possible that the system will immediately stop destroying your products if you change NOW the shelf life in your listing.

Hello @Seller_X0aIH6pt2d215,

Michelle at Amazon here. I understand you are concerned with your items being destroyed, however, they are not compliant with the FBA expiration dated items policy. From your image, your items are labeled with a date of 14112027, however, the expiration date is not withing policy.

Expiration dates on FBA products

For products other than medical devices, acceptable date formats are:

MM-DD-YYYY

MM-YYYY

Numeric date formats are preferred. However, dates with an alphabetical abbreviation for the month (for example, DD-JAN-YYYY) are also acceptable.

As your items are not labeled with an acceptable date format, they were marked as expired. I would cancel the destroy order in your account and ask Seller Supportto cancel it as well. Then create a removal order to get any items back that were not destroyed. I would recommend that you do not send any more items in until you have the date format fixed on your products.

To prevent this from happening in the future, always be sure to read all policies regarding your items before shipping them to FBA.

Regards,

Michelle
