Amazon disposed of almost 400 units
Hi guys, I have an emergency here. In the beginning of september, I believe it was on a sunday, I noticed almost all of my asins all of a sudden had 0 available. I attributed this to amazon’s incredibly idiotic system where they transfer all the units to other warehouses, as they have done this before. I do inventory once a month so I check my fulfillment->removal order detail today for the past 30 days and I notice almost 400 units are in “disposal”. What in the hell is this? I never authorized this, my account is NOT compromised, I had received NO email or correspondence about this and we’re looking at over $60,000 in losses. Do I have to turn this into a legal situation because I KNOW amazon is going to come up with some flimsy excuse. I have never in my life seen anything like this. I created a ticket and immediately escalated it to the Captive team so I’ll see what they say but this is frightening.

After hours on the phone with the leader of the captive team, even she’s at a loss for words. She has no idea who did this and why it was done but the units were all sellable. She understands how big of an issue this is in terms of potential future lawsuits so now she’s going to HER supervisor to figure out who did it and how to reimburse me. They owe me between 50-$75,000.

Are they potentially hazmat? Is there a word in the title that can be mistaken by a bot for hazmat? ( I remember one colleague complaining that he had trouble listing a math book on poisson distribution.)

These were $200-$300 items that went into my fulfillable inventory and disappeared the next day. These items I sell on a daily basis. No returns

Sounds like someone keyed in something wrong in the warehouse… human error, but it also sounds like Amazon is trying to make it right for you.
Keep on them, but keep professional, I have found that gets better and faster results with Amazon.

I’ve seen this happen before.
It’s usually because there’s a hazmat issue with your item and you did not submit proper documentations prior to sending in your item to FBA. Usually you’ll get away with it for months before someone at FBA picks up on the hazmat issue.
You may think it’s not Hazmat but even something as simple as a AA battery that comes with that product will result in Hazmat disposal. (Unless proper documentation is on file with FBA)
The other seller this happen to, his product has a small CR 3032 (Those flat round battery) and all of his product were disposed because he did not submit FBA documentation for hazmat.
If you can share the ASIN, we can better help you analyze the issue. Otherwise, it’s all guesses.

I have decided that Amazon disposes or deletes slow selling items from your invnetory…I have look for things I know I had and they are gone…I know I did not sell them…So I guess after a while if something dosen’t sell,they just delete it from your inventory… Can anyone comment on this…??
