Read onlyI have to vent my frustration somewhere. I have been trying to gain approval to create new ASIN's for a brand that I have been creating new ASIN's for since 2017. Suddenly in December, I became unable to create new ASIN's for this brand. This is a major blow to our small business and we are down over 50% this year alone.
My frustration comes in the fact that I can't seem to get the Executive Support Team or the Internal Team to understand that this brand does not put UPC's on their products. They put an internal SKU on their products that looks like a UPC (for a different company), but it is just an internal inventory number this company uses. I keep providing the Internal Team and Executive Support team with the correct GS1 UPC, but they keep coming back to me telling me that the "UPC" (which isn't a UPC) doesn't match the brand. That's because it's not a UPC!
In the past, the Executive Support and/or Internal Team have been able to understand this. Now it seems like everything is being read by a bot as I keep getting the same answer, the number on the product doesn't match the brand. They are willing to work with me, but there is nothing else I can provide them other than what I already have.
Is there any way to get a person to read and understand this? Because it's really not that hard to understand? What does everyone else feel about this new Internal Team? Has anyone had any luck in this ? I can't get a GTIN exemption because the brand IS on GS1.
Thanks for listening. Any Mods here listening that can help?
Since this brand is on GS1 I suppose that at least for their internal use they assign UPC codes to their products. On your place I would contact the brand and ask them to give you these UPCs for the products you sell.
If you can't get a GTIN exemption you mandatory NEED a UPC in order to CREATE the listing. It doesn't need to be on the product but you need it for the listing creation.
Does this brand have a presence on Amazon? As in do they have a brand registry account or anything like that?
You might need to make sure that the photos of the products (if they are requiring that in order to create the listing) do not show this sku barcode that is making Amazon think it is the wrong UPC.
That is why not to keep all your eggs in one basket as Amazon is no longer reliable. We keep getting our top selling item taken down for high pricing errors when they are not and Amazon setting prices at 70% lower than bays selling prices are.
Hey @Seller_X22lAr6MYYCHO- thank you for detailing this situation here on the forums. Danny here and I'd like to assist if I can. Can you help share the case ID used to discuss the issue with support so I can take a closer look?
Thanks in advance.
you need UPC now.. really all the time but now you do for sure.. just go buy some UPCs get them registered to your brand and move on.
I am having a similar issue with UPCs. I am using a valid UPC issued by the manufacturer. I had this issue escalated, but the escalation dept is still having problems even understanding my situation.
They will only listen to you if you are a Chinese seller. Otherwise, you don't matter to Amazon. Fact based on plenty of evidence.
