Is there already a thread running for information about this? I'm a US attorney and Amazon seller and have been following this closely. The case is expected to be filed in the coming weeks and will likely run for several years. There are a lot of sideline organizations that would like to see Amazon split up; I personally think that's the most logical resolution, though there's about 45 years of precedent against enforcing antitrust laws in any meaningful way.
For interested sellers, I think there will be a lot of opportunities to share your stories. There are thousands of examples of abuses of sellers by Amazon. As an attorney, I hope to file some amicus briefs/affidavits in support of various FTC arguments. Public opinion appears to be very much against a breakup, but, good or bad, this will be decided by the court, which I expect will largely ignore public opinion. Are any other sellers interested in connecting and discussing ways you may be able to share your story and contribute to legal filings? It would help greatly to be able to include some other perspectives and examples in my filings. Thanks in advance.

Since Amazon removed the DM system on the new NOT improved Forum it will be exceedingly difficult to achieve any 'group effort' on this site.
It MIGHT be possible on an alternative site however where sellers ask (other) sellers questions in a more 'free-style' and DIRECT manner.
The MODS have become fairly adept at removing any direct solicitations.
Since Amazon does make store names available however, if anyone responds to this you could probably find a way to get in touch AWAY FROM Amazon.
Despite their claims that they want us to 'connect' and become a 'community' it's typical Amazon to make that almost impossible -- and in this case, for obvious reasons.
GLADLY! I can share ALL the evidence of theft of inventory, abuse of their own policies and even the responses I received from their law firm when I contacted them to discuss arbitration and small claims as means of recovering my losses.
I have a strong feeling this SCOTUS will not rule in the FTCs favor...
Count me in. I am with you and your efforts.
And THANKS!
Yes, the inventory losses are insane. It's horrendous business practices. There is no recourse for FBA sellers of books when they require a "invoice" not from a thrift store or generic......and then do not properly reimbursement. AKA theft. Horrendous.
I will happily share my story with you. I can be contacted through my brand website, which is simply our brand name, belessence. It is a com url.
I'm very interested to know how this would benefit sellers? All the Pros/Cons.
Every day after 10 years Amazon still amazes me with the problems they create for sellers.
My biggest BEEF with Amazon is their price-fixing policies. In order to be the most "customer concentric" company in the world, Amazon rejects any price that is more than either Amazon's own price or the price on other platforms. I have had so many listings de-activated because of a price issue! Good examples are listings I try to make for NEW are rejected, but the USED prices are HIGHER. I always thought price-fixing was illegal(?) I sell only books and DVD's.
Talk about things that can backfire in a millisecond.
When the "consumers inform act" came about, many third-party sellers claimed, "At last, something will be done about bad sellers competing unfairly with my business" and voila,...All third-party sellers became an instant liability for Amazon. At the rate of $50,000 a pop! Beware of what you wish.
So you are a seller and an attorney and you want to work against Amazon. Close your seller account first then you can do whatever you want but you are losing your time.
