It would be great if buyers had an Amazon account health system. I've heard there is one but it's "internal". Make it public and in their face. Educate the buyers that they aren't skimming out on Amazon but actual sellers on the other end.
This could help address issues like false claims of "item delivered late" when it wasn't, or returning items as "not as described" when it's really just buyer's remorse or they want to simply return it. If buyers could see a record of their own questionable return behavior and realize the potential consequences—like their account being flagged or even closed for repeated abuse—it might reduce the number of bogus returns and discourage attempts to get items for free. Such a system would benefit both sellers and the marketplace overall.
This year has been one of the worst, and it seems like I am not alone. I think the biggest one that ticks me off is the "item arrived late" when it clearly was delivered in the promised timeframe window on the order.
Or one that I just got this morning. "Item not received, please refund me". Well luckily this one was shipped with FedEx and they took a photo of the delivery. When I told them on the tracking there is a photo of the delivery, they were quick to change their tune to "Ok, thank you, Merry Christmas".

Keep it internal and secret!
Let buyers know just how much slack they have left. How many more scams they can safely pull in a given period.
Nope. Keep it internal.
yeah, i'm probably out 60+ orders from the classic, Hey tracking says my item delivered but it aint here. amazon insta a to z claim loss. and these people want to do zero, or at least that the story to contact post office etc, because it's all bs. but, that's the cost of doing business
I'd love if we could just block problematic buyers... would solve so many of my issues. Wishful thinking on this platform though.
My favorite is “Didn’t approve purchase “. Well Mr. Buyer, me neither.
A lot of what I receive are from criminal gangs who write basically the same thing, "tracking says it was delivered but it is not here". Once Amazon gets rid of one, 3 others pop up.
Amazon should automatically block or gray out "item arrived late" if delivery is confirmed within the specified time frame. This is not rocket science!
My new favorite one for booksellers is "There was visible black mold on this book. It gave me an asthma attack when I opened it." I messaged the buyer yesterday reminding him that I have pictures of the outside and inside of the book and if it does not come back in the condition it was sent I will deduct a restocking fee. I have not heard back from the buyer. My guess is the book will never be returned and since I am FBM I will never have to refund.
Consider eBay. Much more seller control! Too much loss from fraud here on Amazon, especially for the booksellers. Plus their technology is way better!
Yeah...and for those of us that sell apparel...constantly dealing with customers wearing our merchandise and then returning it in gross, used condition. So incredibly frustrating. I just got a $240 ski suit back that had a lift ticket and helmet rental receipt inside the pockets, no tags, and smelly perfume! Reason for return...item too big. I can withhold a 50% handling fee, but I feel like I shouldn't have to refund anything. Would love to rate that customer and not worry about retaliation.
Amazon has created a paradise on Earth for all the low life degenerate criminals in America. Even worse, Amazon rewards criminality and incentivizes criminal behavior from even normal people.
