Yes, Amazon does ask for your safety certification for the product. Your certificate must be issued by a USA based testing lab. If the product is yours, sold under your brand name, the certificate needs to be in your brand name. It you are selling someone else's brand; they need to give you the certificate.

Now with that said, if the product is made in China, offer the certificates issued are not from a USA based testing lab, but a China based lab. Mast China manufacturers who sell of Amazon sellers simply use uncle joe's lab down the street. this is because they know right from the start, the product will not pass USA standards.

The testing will show the fire rating, choking hazard with the straps, etc. Then you either place the warnings in the sewn-in Tag make warning tags and attaché them to the product.

If you do not have COC already, yes it will be expensive, but you have to look at it this way. Amazon selling in not your real goal. Your real goal it to display at commercial wholesale shows on hopes of Target, or Walmart picking up the product.
