Re brand with a slight brand name change but keep historical expenses and hard work

Dear @Dougal_Amazon

We started a business with our whole life savings. And from the start until today we have done everything the right way and kept very high standards of quality and ethics whether it be the product and/or any process of the business itself.

Of course, USPTO's final registration can take years, so we went ahead with USPTO initial registration and at the same time launched our products.

Now something very unexpected has come across and we have 2 options: 1. To make a slight change to our current brand name 2. Fight a long and expensive legal fight and maybe we will get to keep the same brand name.

At this point we have spent a ton just on the Amazon Ads to be able to rank. We are considering to sightly change the brand name instead of going the longer route of overcoming the issue with USPTO. At the same time we do not want to list our products generically because it is a risk.

We are going to re-brand, re-label and we will re-create all the listing page materials as per the new brand name. The products will remain exactly the same. Pricing, quality, everything will be the same. Even the logo will effectively remain the same with the addition of just 1 word.

We just want to be able to make this slight new change to the brand name which will mean that we secure our previous investment in Ad spent. Because without that it'll mean to spend tons of money for the new ASINs which we really don't have and will loose all the life savings just because of a very tiny issue.

I was wondering if our case can be looked into closely and dealt with considering our specific situation as well as the fact that the new change is going to be very minimal.

We can also be very vocal and visual about the brand change, so the customers who have previously known our brand don't get confused and understand very well that we have slightly re-branded and the fact that everything else remains the same in terms of quality, price, quantity, customer service and the business itself.

I do not believe you can "make a slight change", you would have to start all over.

Hi there @Seller_jtIPzw4br0CUg

@Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9 above is correct here.

Although you believe it's a "small change" with it being a one word addition, but one word is a big change in terms of a brand name. Any major Brand Name change requests are considered re-branding and will not be supported. To protect Customer trust and ensure catalog quality, we ask that you create a new ASIN for the new product.
