@CR_Amazonpresented a comprehensive look at Pricing your product. The best I've seen on the site. However there some other issues that must be kept in mind., even before you select a product to sell.
First. There is a direct relationship between your listing price and the profit you will make. Never take your mind off of your profit, and that starts when selecting products to sell. Look at similar products on the Amazon site to see what they retail for.
You know the wholesale cost, FBM commissions, FBA associated fees, shipping costs, and your desired profit. They are all fixed before you start (except FBA fees which ach change at any time). If you cannot consistently earn your desired profit per item, you earn profit will diminish. You do not want this to happen. There is nothing wrong with saying, thatproduct is not a good fir for the Amazon site.
Secondly. Amazon knows the secret of selling on the site but does not come right out and say it. Only sell products that buyers want and need and sell then at the lowest price. Amazon's own products, 98% of the time, are the lowest offering price. Amazon does not need to use any of the add-ons such as (advertising campaigns, PPC's, Reprices, etc.) Their product offerings are though out well in advance, and you should do the same.
One of your "Fair Pricing" rules states, "Setting a price on a product or service that is significantly higher than recent prices offered on or off Amazon;"
Amazon is being sued by the FTC for this practice. I'm not clear why it is still touted as a "fair" anything.
Sellers can only offer prices that "please" customers based on their costs. Amazon's platform costs are exponentially higher than other platforms, thus requiring higher prices to the consumer.
I'm curious why this is still being enforced.
