stop giving customers the right to refund when they lie about damaged goods

Well, there are 9+ Million other sellers who would agree with you, so you are in good company. Amazon is the largest promoted of fraud in the country. It actually is the one who trained the buyers to use the system to same buyers.
While Amazon will not come out and provide data on scam returns, private tracking of my personal FBA returns over 20 years clearly shown that i in 5 is an honest return, and the other 4 are scammers getting free a product.
Amazon receives approximately a million returns a day, Statistics show that approximately 82% of the sellers use FBA and 16$%use FBM. Those 82% FBA sellers have agreed to let Amazon handle their returns any way Amazon sees fit. After all, the return loss is not coming out of Amazon's pocket, Amazon is giving the refund from the Sellers's account. At least the FBM sellers can file a Safe-t claim for some reimbursement.
