Read onlyI am trying to list some of our brand's products on Amazon. When I go to "add products", I enter the UPC (which has been assigned to us by GS1) for the product, but get error 8541 saying that this UPC has already been assigned an ASIN. Meaning, another seller has used my brand's UPC to list my brand's product on Amazon.
It's my understanding that per Amazon policy, "if you are not the owner of the GTIN barcode on GS1, you will not be able to use it to list your products." But, I'm having a hard time getting Amazon to remove these ASINs that are associated to my brand's UPCs, so that I may use the UPC to create an ASIN that we own and can manage.
We are registered with Brand Registry, but I have been unable to get resolution via Brand Registry. I also have tried opening cases via Seller Support but am not able to get resolution.
Wondering if anyone has experience something similar and can help point me in the right direction.
I have identified 99 ASINs which have been creating using our brand's UPCs, but we do not own these ASINs. So this is a pretty big problem that we are trying to navigate.
I am having the same issue. I have 25 GS1 UPC's for my brand that are being used by a company that doesn't sell anything remotely close to what my brand sells and Amazon just keeps giving me the runaround.
Hi there @Seller_jCljo6GKsBwir and @Seller_ukQRG74YNWzqs,
I'm sorry you have had issues with your UPCs creating listings. In general if you are the UPC owner and they are tied to your Brand via GS1 and you are the Brand Owner you should be able to resolve this issue with Seller Support however I understand you've had some difficulties doing that. Please provide your most recent Seller Support Case on this and I will see what escalation options I can offer. Thank you for your understanding.
