1 star reviews from people who don't buy the product

How is it fair that a person can leave a 1 star review without purchasing my product, admitting that they didn't purchase my product, and that they are only leaving a 1 star review to tell others to "beware" because my type of product caused them issues. They stated they didn't even purchase from me! My product is a very common dog treat item that is sold online and in major stores. There are always inherent risks to allowing your dog to chew/eat anything. This is stated in my listing and a dog parent must be cautious about what they are allowing their dog to eat/chew on.

I could understand if this person purchased the treat from me. But to go on my listing and intentionally leaving a 1 star review telling others to "beware" after admitting they didn't even purchase the product from me seems crazy!

Hi there @Seller_17BknIXJkS4YT- and thanks for posting about this here on the forums. I am sorry to hear about the negative review.

I wanted to help make sure you had these answers to questions about product reviews handy, as they do confirm that:

"Can a buyer review a product not purchased on Amazon or from me?

Yes, provided that the buyer meets the eligibility criteria in our Community Guidelines. They can review any product on Amazon, regardless of where they purchased that product."

It sounds like this customer had a poor experience with the product purchased separately, and wanted to share their experience on Amazon. I apologize that it may not have been from an order you fulfilled, but we do want our customers to post their honest experiences, regardless of where they purchased the product.

I hope this helps, but let me know if I can address further questions on the topic.

Best,

Danny
